Copenhagen Strand Hotel

Spent three nights at this lovely hotel. The staff are just amazing with restuarant suggestions, and directions to local sights. If you need anything reception will have it! There was a kettle in our room but we requested a milk jug so we could make a cup of tea. There is a water cooler on the bar so you can fill up your water bottles at reception. We had an Executive Double which overlooked the water, and while it was incredibly expensive, we felt it was well worth the extra to get a large, sunny spacious room with a beautiful view. I took my own hairdryer (there was one in the bathroom) but you will need a Danish adaptor to plug it in (I brought one with me which I had bought on Amazon). If you require daily room cleaning you will need to request this at reception and this can be done at check in. Breakfast had a really good offering with a choice of all sorts of meats, cheeses, breads, cake, salad and yougurts and cereals. My husband liked the scrambled egg with bits of bacon in - just don't expect a cooked traditional breakfast! The hotel is just round the corner from Nyhaven and Copenhagen is definately a walking city. I would recommend going to the top floor of Magasin du Nord department store to try a danish Smorrebrod (open sandwich) and enjoy views over the city. Big shout out to all the staff (waiting staff, reception and cleaners) at the hotel. They made all the difference to the enjoyment of our stay in Copenhagen.
