3 reviewsWe stayed for three nights whilst attending the nearby regatta lake. It's about a 15 minute easy walk from nearby Hněvice Station (which is about 40 mins from Prague mainline) The hotel is a fairly basic tower block and overlooks the bus station opposite and the largest paper mill in the Czech Republic in the distance. The staff don't speak English - but are quite happy to communicate through Google Translate! We tried to book an appratment - but these were already taken. Our twin bedded room was 'twinned' with the adjoining twin bed room - in that there is a communal entrance with shared fridge and toilet and shower. You can pay a little extra and 'block' the adjoining room - so you effectively have a private en-suite. We hadn't done this, but there was no-one next door. I think it is probably worth the extra money to do it. The single beds were quite comfortable. the room itself was fairly basic - but had new double glazing and French Doors leading to a balcony (overlooking the bus terminus). radiator in the room worked fine and there was plenty of hot water. TV with about 40 terrestial channels and 100 or so satelite ones. Most were foreign but there was English news and several English film/documentary channels. (Look out for the local Steti channel!) Wifi only appeared in reception - but I couldn't get to log on for some reason. Steti itself is EXTREMELY quiet. There is a Tesco and another supermarket similar to an Aldi, but that was about it! All the village centre restaurants appeared to be shut! AVOID the kebab shop - the server was drunk - accompanied by his dog - and he served up a cold, partially cooked takeaway! If you want to eat - go up to the nearby Hotel Sport restaurant which welcomes non-residents. A very large menu (in English) and great food at a reasonable price. Free wifi there which is very fast. Hotel Terek is about a 30 minute walk to the regatta lake. We were intrigued by the loudspeaker announcements from the lamp post speakers each day at about 5pm! We've since discovered they are just local updates about community events. In summary - we found the hotel perfectly acceptable and very cheap. A good base for visiting any event at the regatta lake if you're going to be using public transport and walking.
