DO NOT STAY HERE! 

The hotel is awful, it was so unclean. The water was brown, and room smelled of cigarettes. As you can see from photos attached, the water was dirty, there was a cigarette bud left in the vent of the room and the bed sheets were dirty. Breakfast was horrible, nothing was fresh. Please do not stay here.

The building is located opposite a park in a large square in the very elegant brick building in the present day district of Vitkovice, which is still in Ostrava and has a significant past. This area was industrialised in the 19th century and was the industrial centre of North Mahrana until the end of 1989. Vitkovice was also booming at the time and so a whole city centre was built, including a very stylish daystone building that still exists today. The hotel is not such a building, but it is located within this very interesting city district, which was certainly a very interesting place to stroll around and very interesting buildings (see Rathaus, see Soche, see Rothschild-Palast) were very attractive.

Very pleasant hotel in a very interesting place...

I was spontaneously in Ostrava for the U20 Ice Hockey World Cup and checked into the Hotel Veronica. WiFi works reliably. Parking is behind the church (hotel has 5 parking spaces). Behind the hotel are some pubs, but they didn't really open at this time (between Christmas and New Year). Here is also the second free parking space for the hotel. I got a parking space behind the church. Everything is relaxed. I even got a look out of the hotel room. See few people in the area. So anytime. Breakfast is okay. There are eggs, there is sausage, cheese, coffee, juices. Room size is fine. For this price and for 2 and I have to complete the service. Everything is easy to do with the hotel room. If you come to the city and I'm not able to do it, I'm in a good condition. I've got about 20 minutes and everything is fine.

It's a great weekend, walking to the Ostravar Arena and Dolní Vítkovice.

We were on our way from Croatia to Lithuania, and decided to stop midways for a nights sleep. The rooms were okay, although lacked AC, which made it unbearable to sleep on those really hard beds. When the kids and everyone went to bed, a bunch of youngsters began shouting and yelling. They went from the street, and into the building and made a havoc. That was really irritating. I have never experienced a thing like this, and made us feel uncomfortable. Another issue was the parking. It was by the church, like 200m away for the hotel building, but again didn’t feel safe leaving our cars there. Locals said its a very dangerous area, and the reception didn’t do anything. Really disappointed! The layout of the building reminds a lot soviet barracks. Will never return again.

Loud neighbors and uncomfortable

If after a long trip you do not arrive in time for a paid breakfast, you have just had bad luck. On the request for a coffee that I wanted to pay for again, I was very unkind and angry when I was told that it is now 10:17 for lunch and you have no time to make coffee. Incredible what has never happened to me in 20 years in the whole of the Czech Republic. No elevator, no TV, no service, never again!

Be careful!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Its located in Vitkovice, a suburb of Ostrava.
I found it easy to get to the hotel by tram no 2 from Ostrava main train station.
The hotel is particularly convenient if you are visiting the football ground for Banik (20 minutes walk), or the Bolt Tower (15 minutes walk).

All the reception staff spoke good English and were very helpful. The Luxe room i stayed in was clean and spacious. In the morning the buffet breakfast had enough to keep me satisfied.

I had no complaints and recommend it as a good budget choice in Vitkovice.

Good experience

I recently stayed here for two nights in one of their "Standard" category rooms on the top floor of the building.

The hotel is clean and is located directly on the tramline from the main train station, so very easy to reach if you're coming to the city by train.

The "Standard" rooms are basic, but perfectly adequate for a place to keep your things and sleep for a couple of days. You get a decently sized room with a private bathroom, a wardrobe and TV. I found the TV had a few English language channels available on it.

The beds were OK, but a bit hard for my liking so I wouldn't want to sleep on them for more than one or two nights.

All the front desk staff I dealt with at the hotel were friendly and professional and spoke good English.

Breakfast was a very typical self serve continental type and the dining room was nice and spacious.

The hotel could improve by Investing in some noise reduction. The corridors echo quite a lot when someone walks down them and makes the place feel rather institutional and cold. Even installing carpet in the corridors would be a big help.

Good for a Couple of Nights

We stopped twice on our way to and from Slovakia. The view from the window is beautiful, but it's noisy. The church is a quarter of an hour away and the trams under the window prevented us from sleeping. There is no air conditioning in the room. Breakfast is good, but we didn't fill up the dishes for a long time. We got the candy, the omelette and the cake, brought the new one in 30 minutes. We travel a lot, but we met this one for the first time.

The transit hotel

The hotel is located in the working part of the city. In front of the hotel is a bell tower whose sleep the hotel does not suit, so also the tram runs nearby. At night the hotel is crowded with people of unpleasant exteriority. The parking lot is not guarded behind the hotel, the car is eager to leave stuffed. But nothing happened with ours. On the other side of the hotel is a night bar. The hotel itself is 80 h. The furniture has been updated, but we got one broken bed. The two-room bedroom is on four. The mini kitchen: refrigerator with freezer, microwave teapot.

Not really.

The first thing that upset me was that there was no elevator, they pulled a bag and suitcase heavy down a steep staircase. Secondly, there is no fan in the room, but you can ask at the reception.The room is clean.The coffee in the hotel costs 45kron.The breakfast was not taken. There is a tram stop nearby, you can get to the Forum shopping center on 2 tramways.
