1) Heating: weak point of the building. Previously built as a summer residence. In-door heating with out-door gas heater - you can small the gas in the whole house. Room meeting during day partly suspended. It can get cold especially in the rooms below the roof. 2) Breakfast: moderate offer 3) diner: main dishes (except fried cheese) are small, you can say you get big side dish with small meat. Limited availability of wine (after 2 glasses the reserves were exhausted). Cash payment required despite cc-terminal on site.

many better places to stay

I was attracted to this B&B because of the history and something different then normal B&B's or Hotel's. You can not class this place as a Hotel. The oak walls and the fire place are great. The Dutch owner has invested into the building of late and the double glazed windows and other new touches have helped. 

However a lot to go, outside plaster falling off, the entrance road / drive, is a pot hole nightmare, don't go in a low car, if you want to leave with your exhaust still attached.
In general the place is cold. In the bedrooms they have electric heaters but in the hallways, dining room,children's play area, they have to rely on the fire place in the lounge.

As for the bedrooms, we apparently got the only bedroom, which they had not managed to refurbish. Then once speaking to another two families, they were told the same. The beds to another couples comments are not the standard in the Czech Republic, just that they are 50 year's old and the pillows have about two feathers in them. Thus bring your own pillows, if you want a good nights sleep.

The waitress / in general does everything herself. Was very friendly and helpful. Good job the Hotel has her, otherwise they would get two stars.

Food is poor, no soup, just a children's sized dinner, and breakfast they have cut down too. When I asked the waitress, why don't they offer the soups any more, I had a simple reply ''people complained that the soups were awful, so we stopped doing them'' how about get a new cook then. Even ordered food ale cart and it was basically something warmed up from the freezer. Tasted awful.

Drinks are over priced. When its cheaper up top at the skiing resorts, then there is something wrong. 

As a change from the norm it was, however would not go there again. If you go, take a pillow, inflatable bed, lots of warm clothes or just go to another B&B.

Still a lot of work to do.

Stayed here for a couple of nights for something out of the way and different. This is an old converted hunting lodge, so the décor is very dark and traditional. Loads of atmosphere especially with the log fire greeting you on your arrival.
The staff are really friendly and even though their English is limited, we managed to get by. 
We had a meal in the afternoon with family and friends, the food is ok, but really needs to be served quicker, as most of it was served warm not hot.
The rooms décor is in keeping with the rest of the hotel and are of a very good size. The only issues we had were, The toilet is so small you are unable to close the door once in. The heating keeps going off and the room, as it is so large gets cold very quickly. The only other thing, was the bed was rock hard, but as we have stayed in another hotel since, it may be the norm, for Czech.
Breakfast is buffet style with a good choice of cold meats, cheeses, yogurt etc. You also get a choice of ham and eggs or omelette as a hot addition which is a nice touch.
Very good value for money but it is a bit out of the way. A taxi into Liberec is very affordable.
Would recommend for something different.

2 night winter stay

we stayed there for only a couple of nights in august 2011, we had a attic room which was really lovely. it wasn't small at all but we did bang our heads getting out of bed. it had everything you needed in the room. the hotel itself is out of the way and you do need a car. there was a tennis court which we didn't use. breakfast was OK nothing special. we ate dinner there and to be honest it wasn't that nice.
there was WiFi but we couldn't get it in our room we had to go downstairs 1 flight in the corridor or sit in the lounge. there was a bar and a small terrace which you could sit on. but  think closing at 2200 was a bit early seeing as there was no where else to go. i would stay there again if i was in the area. 
there did only seem to be only 2 staff on duty at any time.

very cheap gorgous hotel

I was visiting the hotel one week and was surprised by the atmosphere and kindness of the staff. Rooms were quit big and service perfect.Breakfast was good but could better with daily fresh rolls,We like to play golf and there are 4 courses on the neighborhood. Part of the hotel are 2 indoor tennis courts.
We enjoy our stay and go back half of August
