Room is very clean and quiet. The room is big enough and has a safe and fridge. That's fine, because in the garden by the pool there is a communal cooking/breakfast option. Parking is free and supermarket is around the corner. Just like many eateries and the beach.

Good value for money and very clean

If your are seeking relaxation and a very hygienic small hotel, this is the place to be. The premisses are clean and you can park your car in front. My mom and I stayed here 2 weeks ago for 10 days in one of the appartments. Very comfortable and spacious. Home away from home!
The owner and his staff are very friendly, pleasant and lovely to have around. The owner knows so much of the Island and is happy to share if you wish. He also knows the places to go or that you have to see where the tours don't always take you. If you don't find something just ask.
What I liked most; you arrive and your key is waiting for you, no fuss. The directions on the premisses are very clear and easy. Your appartment or room is ready for you. After a long flight it is nice to just go straight to your appt./room; the matras of the bed is DIVINE! If you want breakfast, just make sure to tell the owner or staff the day before. 
I have read the the 2 last comments and I really don't recognize the complaints and mind you I have spent some days at the pool and saw quite a bit of the interaction between owner and staff, owner/staff and other guests etc. It was always professional and with respect.

Unexpected visit

We really enjoyed our stay here......Amalia Hotel was wonderful for us. They are in a residential area, and they warn about the dogs in the area. There are many and they are noisy... that would be my only complaint, and he puts it right up front, so really can't complain. Our apartment unit was a nice size, immaculate and well equipped. Only the basics, buts that's all you need. The bed was comfy, nice little couch in the living area and we had a little table to eat on inside (that became John's desk) and another outside on the walkway... that's where we sat to eat when we cooked. We never needed our A/C... we'd leave the door open while we were there (except at night), and windows... and the constant wind kept us comfortable. There were ceiling fans in both rooms too. Bathroom was nice as well. Haithen, the owner is a nice fellow- he drove me to the store due to our late arrival and brought me home again. Very nice. This of course also showed me the way ... because we are the only tourists on the island I think who did not rent a car! lol We walked to and from the grocery store, and the restaurants in the area. The grocery store and beach area were a very pleasant 20 minute walk from our place. The pool is small, but clean and refreshing... he's got a comfortable seating area with sun and shade, and he keeps a beer and wind stock, so you can buy a beer poolside, or bottle... then he charges at the

We stayed at the Amalia which turned out to be the perfect place to stay. The owner, Haithem will make you feel like royalty. He is extremely knowledgeable about the island and wants to make this vacation the best ever. We returned to the island for a second honeymoon. This is a perfect couples resort. You can go out or stay in. There are wonderful restaurants on Jan Thiel beach.  We ate at a Mediterranean one Zest. Five star food but not such good service. Also Haithem makes a great breakfast. Housekeepers are friendly and do an excellent job.

A return visit to Curacao, 40 years later

Clean hotel with friendly staff will recommend this to anyone who wishes to stay in a quiet child free hotel

Located in a residential neighborhood near Jan Thiel, Amalia Boutique Hotel and Apartments offers exceptional customer service in a very comfortable setting. Rooms are spacious and the property is very clean. Much thought and effort is made in making guests feel welcome and at home. The management and staff are very friendly, extremely helpful and attentive. Forget about all those overrun and average resorts! Highly recommend this hotel and will make sure to let all my friends know about wonderful Amalia!
