I started my visits to Cuba from 1996. Been here many many times. I thought I saw it all. But Cuba surprised me again. My travel agency change my hotel last minute. So instead Club Tropical I went to Los Delphines. And I will tell you. I never see anything like that before. I usually give Cuba a credit. Life is tough. I understand. I’m helping a lot of people here. And don’t usually leave reviews. But in hotel for foreigners!!!! No hot water. Toilet ball falling on the floor. No bed sheets. When I asked for one so I can use it as cover. They told me they don’t have it. Not at all. All bed sheets and pillow cases are old and have mold. See photos. I found cockroach in bathroom. Food is horrible even for Cuba. Probably worse food I had in Cuba. I was booked here until 2 of January. But I’m leaving today to private house. Just went to have lunch. The guy who worked grill gave me an attitude when I asked him to prepare for me normal pieces of fish. Not fish tail ends he got left. Alejandro his name. Look what he surprised me with. And I also gave him a tip before hands. People in reception, coffee bar and cleaning lady were nice. Beach and location is great.

Probably most horrible stay in Cuba in 28 years.

This hotel is simply the best! We are repeating travellers to this hotel for the past 4yrs! Where do I start the staff is absolutely amazing! The food is great!! The views are great! Also the best entertainment! Anything you need just ask they will all be happy to help! If you have a chance to go check out this hotel you won’t be disappointed!! Looking forward to the next trip! One of the best hotels!! 

Me and my boyfriend went 3 days to this beautiful resort.  November 15 to November 17.  The staff and personel is amazing and very nice.  Marbelis ❤️ at the public relations always came to check and see if everything was OK.  

It's a beautiful resort, small and very cozy.  I felt at home at this resort.

I love having a coffee in the morning with a beach view.

Walking distance to different restaurants and bars.

I plan on returning in April for 2 weeks

An amazing vacation at this resort

Vacation from hell.   The food was bad, no vegetables,  fruit,  etc.   Most of the staff were fantastic and try very hard to accommodate for the poor conditions and just say "it's Cuba" when tourists  comment.    Many areas on the resort (including restaurant) had pools of water which made it very slippery.   My sister fell and had to be hospitalized for 2+ days as she had fractured her wrist (which a horrible ordeal).The hospital said she couldn't leave unless she received the release document.  All I wanted was to get her on the next plane.    When we did get to the airport with that paper, customs said it wasn't necessary.   I myself had actually 2 near Falls.    Save your money, don't go to Cuba, I'm told most resorts are having problems with food and many European partners are pulling out and some hotels are closing.   Don't go, change your destination country.    I will try to upload videos of selection of food in restaurant.

Vacation from Hell.  Stay away from Cuba!

I have been going to Cuba every year, sometimes twice a year since 2014. I've been to many very different resorts. One were perfect and upscale, but the others were modest, old, but still decent. I have to warn you: Stay away from Los Delfines hotel in Varadero. I admit, I did reservation pretty late due to family circumstances.
- Room was run down, with old, stained and dirty sofa cushions instead of normal pillows. When we asked to replace them, room service lady kept repeating " problems, always problems" and did not replace anything. Management people were unavailable. Nobody speaks English, just few words.
- security deposit box was broken twice. We had to wait for 2.5 hours for it to be fixed for the 2nd time.
- bed linen was old and with lots of stains of unknown origin 
- many outlets were broken
- Room was dirty, bathroom was small, without shelf, run down and also dirty. Towels were greyish brown, ripped and small.
- they don't clean rooms every day, as well.
- food was very modest, the same every day( chicken, cold pasta, hot discasting pasta, rice) Meat was very rare, so as fish. Bad juice, lack of fruits) and of short supply. Shortage of food one hour after each meal. And they don't give you to take meat, sausage or chicken by yourself, they put it themselves. Coffee machine instead of milk pours water with traces of milk.
- Most of guests were cubans, who often misbehaved, shouted and tossed beer cans into water.
- Some local guests did not have a wrist band, but jumped in front of you at breakfast, lunch, dinner and at bars. Seems they new workers, were hugging, kissing..
- No cocktails, as they just did not know, how to do them at both lobby and beach bars! Pina colada, for example: mountain of ice and diluted coconut milk. Just beer, wine, rom, average coffee from lobby coffee bar and soft drinks with artificial sweeteners.
- They also poored tap water into water bottles in lobby bar! Could smell chlorine after got glass of such water "from the bottle".
- Beach bar was just below average. No beer when asked, also soda with sweetener.
- no wine during lunch, dinner.Just beer and water or soft drinks with sweetener. They don't serve wine at all.
Conclusion: Maybe, it was nice place 10-15 years ago, but now it needs to be closed for serious renovation. 
So, book on time and don't repeat my mistake.

Stay away from this resort !

This is the worst hotel due to the security staff, they are scammers! One of the security guards name is Heriseidel (and tells people his name is Erick) and he uses tourist women, he follows them to their rooms and tries so hard to come into your ROOM! He pretends to be a nice helpful man but be aware, he is a scammer! he also steals liquor bottles from the bar at the resort  and puts them in his back pack and him and his local girlfriend sell them in the streets, i will never return to this resort with this man being security, I do not feel safe!!! Beware of this man, he will give you a sad story just to use you!!!

SCAMMER!!! BEWARE OF SECURITY TEAM AT THIS RESORT!!!!

First room (#208) I was put in was the worst room I have ever been in... very run down; no safe; no towels; no towel bars; only one hanger for my clothes; couldn't close the window in the bathroom so gnats and mosquitoes found their way in; pillows were so grossly stained; mini fridge was constantly leaking; the door barely locked.

Asked to be changed room and kept being told "tomorrow". Finally on Tuesday, I insisted on the change and moved to room #115... more spacious but still no safe (even though I had been told there was, it didn't work); door handle was coming off the door and I had to insist on having it serviced; pillows still grossly stained but insisted on new and was given some sort of cushions; the room was barely cleaned, for example, the mirror still had writings on it from previous guests. No beach towel available to me all week (probably had a limited number as I did see some guests with towels)!

The hotel did not serve wines (except for Thursday and had run out of red by Friday), and barely any booze or mixes; it was only on Wednesday that they finally got vodka, and on the Thursday that they got cola (for rum and coke for example). They also ran out of glasses (glass as well as plastic) and guests were asked to keep their plastic glasses to reuse. The staff was cutting the top off of plastic bottles (water, for example) and they used that as glasses for their guests.

On the upside, the cleaning lady for room 115 was a kind and pleasant person (though my room was not cleaned for the rest of my stay – one day was at my request to not clean). Also, the lady tending the coffee bar is a very nice and pleasant person.

I have no complaints on the food as I have celiac disease so I’m happy as long as there are fruit and vegetables available!

I absolutely felt that this hotel’s priority is not its out of country guests!

This hotel has a lot of potential, but it is so poorly run/maintained; the staff could use training in regards to cleaning the rooms, for example.

Perfect beach; not so good on the hotel part!

This was my 3rd time at Los Delfines, and I found the hotel emptier than usual, with a lot of Cuban tourists sprinkled amongst the primarily Canadian clientele. No Russians to be seen. I was given a room in the same building as the lobby (room 235) and it was wonderful. There was a TV with plenty of English channels, AC, mini fridge, and a great view from the balcony. Meals are spartan but I am not a "foodie" so they were just fine with me. I never waited in line for an omelet or grilled meat. Drinks were plentiful and on tap. The beach continues to be amazing. The entertainment was great. Staff are LOVELY. The weather was divine for the entire week (it rained once at night). Did I say week, I meant to say 8 days because my Sunwing flight back to Canada was cancelled and I got an extra day at no extra charge. I was not complaining. In fact, if anyone reading this is looking for complaints, you wont get them here. If you are looking for a luxury hotel with gourmet meals then go somewhere other than Cuba. Such first world problems we have as we sit on the beach and lament the miseries of live. The bar ran out of milk on the last 2 days so no capuccino. Big deal. This is a country dealing with severe shortages and covid has decimated their economy. Just be thankful to be out of the snow and cold. Next time I will pack some of the small packages of coffee whitener that I have in copious amounts. Note to self. Otherwise, I have nothing negative to say and am actually contemplating going back in 2 weeks. Why not? WONDERFUL resort and stay. Gracias Cuba.

Great place

Works hotel i have been to everything about hotel is bad. Staff food no music after 11 dirty empty hotel. Would not recommend to anyone. No snack bar as there stayed there was only 1 bar . Horrible. The only good thing that was good is close to everything.  Go to little better hotels. They have this hotel as 3.5 starts I would give 1 star i was in hotels that are 2 stars better then this .
