If you want, you can admire this beautiful colonial building... from the outside. We recommend that you avoid staying there. Here everything is out of date: air conditioning, electric sockets and especially the bathroom where the water drips in the shower: good courage to rinse! Add to that the hellish noise of the street, the music that vibrates the walls (the Quies balls can't do anything for you anymore). The terrace is open to everyone and you have no way to close the window that opens with a little push. Finally, let's signal that we were received like dogs in a bar that a manager wanted us to go back to the dining room by lunch.

The worst hotel on our trip.

Located right in the centre of Baracoa, next to the cathedral, Casa del Cacao and Casa de la Trova, this small hotel has a certain charm despite its old facilities. In the first room we were given, the air conditioner was not working and the hot water was hard to come by, things we noticed at the reception and we were quickly assigned another room where everything worked.

The Charm of a Colonial Building

It's a very old hotel, but it still retains its charm. It's recommended that you sit on the terrace that overlooks Calle Maceo and get yourself a drink, relax and enjoy the climate and the environment.

There's no room, just breakfast, it's expensive, but it's definitely worth it, fresh fruit, rich juices and some decent snacks.

Called in for a drink one evening, old colonial style building, bit battered in places but it has a terraced bar over looking the pedestrian high street. You can soak up the sounds and atmosphere of Baracoa and still feel a little bit away from the hawkers. Gaviota run Hotel with tourist desk in foyet.

El Hostal La Habanera de Baracoa made an excellent impression on me. It is located in a two-story colonial-style house on the most central street of Baracoa. It has a central lighting yard that illuminates the entrance, with a small cafeteria, dining room and a staircase leading to the rooms. These are clean, with new, freshly painted furniture, with built-in bathroom and comfortable mattresses. They serve a proper breakfast with eggs, mattresses, jams and coffee. We remember, it was a great place for two days. Did we say a room with a bathroom that, after a good 15 day dressing, was completely in the way and the bathroom's boundary, but the room was obviously changed by a rain that would have made us feel better, but we are still waiting for a reminder that the air conditioner would be in the same room?

Good impression, bad experience

Among the accommodations Baracoa offers I think it is one of the best but... if it rains care where you sleep because you might wake up with the drop falling on your head! The rooms are small and furnished very simply but we must always realize that we are in Cuba.

Cuba is...

Well, it's not the big luxury, but it's ideally placed without being noisy. Very average accommodation. Not terrible lunch at all (pre-dawn bread and small quantities). Cold water for showering. Very poor restaurant. Too bad... That is, if you come by car, it's impossible to park around. But you have access to the parking lot of the El Castillo Hotel on the heights; it's worth going for a walk for the view. A thought for the people we met in Baracoa and around it, who must have been hit by the holy storm Irma.

It's a perfect location.

The colonial-style hotel is familiar and is centrally located in the pedestrian zone of Baracoa. The clean rooms with air conditioning are quite small, the windows were not open (room 108). Breakfast is brought fresh to the table: egg dishes as desired, juice, coffee or tea, bread, butter, marmalade. Friendly staff. Attention: no running water in the rooms when there is a power failure!

We had a light dinner here because they were out of most of the more appealing things on the menu.   We cannot recommend the fruit salad or the chicken sandwich.  It is centrally located.  Friendly service.
