Villa Ivanka

We holidayed in Villa Ivanka from 9th-19th July 2017. We stayed in apartment 2 (lovely apartment green ) which is a one bedroom apartment with 2 sets of french doors leading onto the balcony which overlooks Zaton Bay. The views from the balcony are best described as stunning. Our host, Marija, was extremely courteous and helpful both on arrival - and being available throughout our stay. She arranged transport to and from Dubrovnik airport at a reasonable cost. She gave us advice on the local area, beaches, restaurants, bus timetables and sightseeing. She arranged a 3 island tour for us and even gave us a lift to lovely Stikovica Beach (google it!) in her own car. One day she gave us home made apple strudel which was superb; Marija is a very generous and pleasant host. Villa Ivanka is located in a quieter area of the bay but within easy walking distance of several restaurants, supermarkets and bus stops - both in Mali Zaton and Zaton Valiki - which is nearby - a 15 minute walk along the promenade that links both areas. Bus stop on main road - timetabled and reasonably priced service that runs to time and only a 20 minute ride to Dubrovnik if you wish to be in livelier surroundings or to have a wider choice of restaurants and shops. Taxi's are readily available but we used local transport so can not comment on cost. There is a small pebbled beach down the steps leading to the beach which is about 80 metres away. Great place to sunbathe (with much needed shade) and to swim in the crystal clear water. There are other places along the promenade to sunbathe and swim, but with less shade. The apartment was air conditioned (included in cost), beautifully decorated and well maintained. Bed was really comfortable with memory foam mattress and stylish bedding. Kitchen area well equipped with all the utensils you could need for making light meals - double hob for cooking, sandwich maker, kettle fridge etc and a small dining area if you choose to eat inside. Beautifully maintained bathroom with toilet, sink and an excellent shower. Always plenty of hot water. Apartment regularly cleaned, and bedding, towels and toilet rolls regularly replaced throughout our stay. Satellite t.v with lots of channels to flick through. We expected a good standard of accommodation and we were not disappointed - we feel the standard of the apartment surpassed our expectations. Wonderful ! When we researched Zaton Bay we wanted to relax in a quieter area of The Dalmatian Coast but with easy access to Dubrovnik Old Town - which is nothing short of breathtaking if you enjoy rich history, spectacular architecture and scenery. We achieved exactly what we were looking for re our holiday and we found Villa Ivanka to be the perfect location for us - complete with wonderful hospitality. We would have no hesitation staying here again if we return to Croatia. Andrea &Paul
