I stayed here last September for 3 nights with a friend. By the time we left we were covered in bed bug bites. I had an allergic reaction to mine resulting in a trip to hostel in italy whilst we continued interrailing. We were told we didn't have to pay however the money came out of my account after we stayed here. I emailed the hostel explaining that we should not have been charged for the visit due to the bed bugs. I received an email from the manager - Maya saying that the accountant would refund the money by the end of the week (after I provided the appropriate details). Nothing was refunded and the hostel stopped replying to my emails after this. Do not stay here, they do not keep to their word, they have a bed bug problem and they are thieves.

Bed Bugs

I made a reservation in June to stay in November and I paid everything in advance by credit card. By end of September they sent me an email saying that the hostel will be closed during the days that I'll stay in Zagreb and that they are going to process a fully refund. They ask me for my bank account details, which I don't have that's why I paid by credit card. I provided everything that they asked for and it's been almost two months (I've also had to change my hostel in Zagreb during my travel) and they never did a fully refund. They stolen to me the money.

They stolen money from me

I paid for a room with airconditing but they didn't turn It on because another guest with kids doesn't want it. If me and her paid for a room with airconditing, we both should know that It would be turned on, as its a shared room. She was close to the Window, but not me, so I couldn't breathe and couldn't sleep. The guy that was working at night doesn't intervened correctly. I do not recommended.

Bad staff at night, I didn't get what I paid for

Zagreb hostel was in an ideal location within a fifteen minute walk from the bus station and a fifteen minute walk to the city centre. Although we did not try the food it looked good, serving pizza and pasta and was decently priced with hostel guests receiving a 10% off voucher. However, we were put on the top floor which due to the hot weather at the time was extremely hot. In particular the hall way and the bathrooms were like saunas. This made for a rather uncomfortable sleep. Overall it was an okay stay and suitable for budget.

Good budget stay but incredibly hot

It's a decent for a good price. The location is really good, within easy walking distance of train and bus station, also close to the main sightseeing spots in Zagreb. WiFi is quick when it works, there are lockers under the bed and free towels.
It could be a lot better though with some tlc, just a lot of little things that would improve things. The door handle on 1 of the bathrooms was broken, WiFi was down my first day (but was subsequently fixed). 1 that really annoys me is none of the showers have a slot to place shower heads; this means you have to hold it with 1 hand, this seems to be trend in Croatia and I have no idea why. It is a deal-breaker? Of course not but it makes the experience better.

If you are looking for a cheap quality hostel this does the job.

Decent and no bed bugs!

Just like other commenters said below, the rooms have a bed bug problem and it's a really huge issue. I regret not reading comments before we stayed in this hostel because now our clothes are infected with bed bugs and it is very possible that we will infect our own homes as well. Getting rid of these guys is extremely difficult, takes months and also costs a ton of money. After we informed the staff they did clean the room, but that obviously doesn't help and on top of that, when we came back our door was widely open??? With our luggages inside it???? Anyone could have walked in and take our stuff this isn't okay at all, I don't know what have they thought. Luckily they gave us a refund and we could change hostels, but still that's not great. Although the price and the location is very attractive, I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay in this hostel because of these issues. Paying 10 Euros more is worth it if it means not getting eaten by bugs in your sleep and not ruin your home after it.

Bed Bugs!

Don’t stay at this hostel due to a bed bug problem. I traveled in a group and two of my friends were bitten by bed bugs here. When I contacted the hostel about a refund for this issue the manager said that the infestation ‘comes with the guests’- a very insulting comment to a paying customer. In addition to the rudeness from staff and the bites caused by our stay, the air conditioning was not working during this year’s heat wave; no attempt of fixing it was made, nor was any compensation offered. If you want to feel patronised and be bitten by bedbugs then this is the hostel for you!

Bed bugs in beds

We had BED BUGS !!! - Not very clean. - Day staff was not professional (told us she had other things to do than dealing with our issue) Few minutes after going to bed (in a room smelling musty), we found bed bugs in our beds. We went to see the staff that was not surprised. They found us another room (only good point) in another hostel. So we had to change hostel a 2 AM in not the best neighborhood of Zagreb. They did not wake the other people of the room who probably had bed bugs too. GO AWAY !!!

Good place, one of the best hostel visited by me, amazing personal, recommend for all ( clean wc and shower room,some noisy in the room , without kitchen this is one of problem) kascheta pizza give 10% sale for guest
