The owner is amazing and caring, with great hospitality and sense of humor, kindly let us use the hotel for parking and leaving our baggage even though we didn't actually stay at the hotel, but nearby. Wouldn't take any tip from us, very kind and honest. The hotel looks great, and the staff were all nice. Looks like he cares a lot about making each resident feel the best.

Former hotel, currently looking more like abandoned Pripyat place, which now offers rooms like airbnb. Good location, free parking, but this is all. Caricature "baroque" furniture, heavy curtains, thick carpets, not working AC (well, working but not maintained for years I guess), and all this this permeated with heavy smell of domestic dust. 
The worst place I've ever been.

I have tried to make a room reservation and kept calling the hotel from Spain/the city of Badajoz.The boss/owner - Branco Yednak ( Defender Equal)  was very arrogant,rude and sometimes even drunk.That was before Christmas 2008. I had to make many calls and in the end didn't  make any reservations.I choose that hotel on a recommendation from special agent Darco from Kutina.The owner was sometimes drunk and sang  old partisan songs about battle on Sutjeska river! After I tried to reach him on his personal cell phone,he paid somebody to call me back and tell me not to call him again.And I just wanted a reservation.He said- Man,that's not normal! You're calling every week! - To which I replied-  who are you ??- He said- And who are you? - This was incredible.Good luck to you getting reservation at that place!

Never go there!!

I will need to file a police report prior to talking of this incident public, but be safe and do not go in there, this guy is dangerous and unpredictable with no respect for humans.
All i will say that i never had someone i never met be so rude and aggressive with no provocation, not to mention the cuss words.

I got PTSD from this place

DO NOT STAY HERE! We were woken up at 3:30am to someone trying to break in to the rooms (main door to building is not locked so anyone can enter). When they attempted to enter our room with keys we called out and they mentioned something about water. We didn’t know if this was serious or a scam so we tried calling the hotel several times and sent an email - no response. I was so scared that I couldn’t get an ounce of sleep afterwards. 

We found out the following day that the hotel boss had been the one trying to break in unannounced while we slept!!!! This is an extremely unprofessional invasion of our privacy and down right creepy!! He was not at all apologetic, in fact he was the opposite and shoo’d us out of the reception like flies annoying him. 

Don’t get me started on the bed, it was disgusting. There were stains all over the sheets and the blankets (there is no cover on the blankets). They put single size sheets on a double bed so you ended up sleeping on the mattress. With some difficulty we managed to get some larger sheets. The room stunkkk of smoke which is always a nice touch

Only positive was the car park but even that doesn’t warrant a mention because your car will most likely get blocked in by other cars. 

Please do yourself and favour and stay anywhere else!

Worst hotel ever (if it can be called a hotel at all). The staff does not know how to use their computer or online booking pages, so I had the unpleasant experience of checking into a hotel. The boss of the hotel is a very arrogant and unpleasent guy who takes the right to yell and shout at guests. They threaten to call a parking service in a parking lot that is theirs and you have the right to park. The room is like horror movies, dirty and full of breakdowns. Avoid this place.

By mistake, my company thought this would be a good, inexpensive hotel option. It was not. Throughout the night, ants were periodically crawling on my bed sheet. I actually think this hotel might be a brothel. When it came time to leave, the manager (who spoke virtually no English) would only take cash, with no receipt. Don't stay here.

Hi, NEVER, NEVER NEVER!!! THE LARGEST TERRIBLE  EXPERIENCE IN MY TRAVELL LIFE!!! 24.10. 2017.I talked to the boss through the phone, about everything regarding the fact of booking MY accommodation for period  15.12.-17.12.2017. therefore, almost 2 months earlier. Then I sent a mail about our conversation to the info hotel  and 25.10.2017.received a kind reply and confirmation of the reservation exactly as I requested. In any case, I printed the reservation and carried it with myself as proof, though they should all have their reservations. When we arrived in Zagreb on December 15th, at 17.30PM and parked a car in front of the hotel because of the rainy rainfall, Mr Branko Jednak was at the entrance off the hotel and told us to leave the parking lot because there was no parking fot us. Rain dropped and we were thinking,...it was a joke, any way, we went to the hotel. Than, we greeted and provided the gentleman with a printed reservation he had literally thrown in my face and not looking at the explanation: "is it coming now, NOW,..who are you at all ...?" We respond to wonder,:".. your guests with reresvation.."He continued to let us down, ... guests??, .. I do not have you in the computer, .. move your car from the parking..and a lot terrible and uncultural words, addressing me all the time with you, turning to me all the time without the persuasion ...without any distance ..."... what do you think who are you,.. with lough voice,..you're such my wife ...We were wondering all the time, once again  trying to explain to him that we had a reservation for accommodation .... At one moment I thought maybe,.. maybe a hidden camera .. ?? It wasn't! But now the situation escalated so much that we were afraid because this man looked very crazy. We went out off the hotel, scared not realizing how such a boss off the hotel/..because he said, I am boss../ could work in tourism. Who gave to him permission?
We sat in the car, the raining, I was all shaking and we did not know where to sleep that night, 15.12.2017., because is Advent in Zagreb and all hotels were full.
We travel a lot, everywhere all over the world and this is my worst experience!!!! And now it looks like a nightmare. There are no ratings for this hotel. This hotel needs to be closed !!!

I was reserving places online and I found that really kitsch old place decorated in an old ballroom style and it's in the centre-ville of Zagreb.  I thought it would be a funny experience.  It wasn't.

Room was dirty, hotel was completely empty (I think we were the only ones in it), employees didn't speak english (thank god my wife is croatian) and we saw them being rude to a customer on the phone and hanging up on them...  then he laughed and said he pretended to lose a reservation.  

Sheets were disgusting to the point that we slept in our clothes (well, we almost went away but we were too tired to find another hotel).  In the morning, we found ants on the bed and a huuuuge spider on the wall.

We didn't shower there, we just were not courageous enough.
And we read on reviews on a website that sometimes they raise their prices and scream at you so I was pretty stressed at the moment of paying.

Booked via an online website, which provided pictures and descriptions of the rooms. When we arrived, we were ushered into two different rooms to those booked and told in a very unprofessional manner that this was all that was available to us. After contacting the online websites help desk, I was asked to send photos of the rooms, which they used to talk to the owner, who didn't answer the phone to them until the next lunchtime. On returning to see if the owner would honour his booking, I was verbally abused and told to move from the hotel, which the online website provider also had to put up with. The worst experience I have had at any hotel and the least welcoming Hotelier I have met to date.
