This was our first summer vacation as a family and first time in Pakostane. We are two adults and 14 months old baby. The establishment is family owned business. Originally we booked via internet a double room (30€/night) but got a pretty decent offer for an apartment (40€/night) that we took. Apartments have their own kitchen and air condition. Directly we were advised that that apartment is booked on our last night and we need to switch to double room originally booked via internet booking site. We agreed. We got early check in with no extra charge. The apartment was fresh and pretty much clean (it was obvious that there was some party there since our daughter have found several balloons under the bed). As an housekeeping manager I managed to see all of the mistakes directly, but there was a cleaning equipment there so we fixed it ourselves. The bathroom is marvelously refurbished, but there are missing fixtures like a place to put a shower head while showering of fixture to hold amenities. The water temperature was barely warm if only hot water was turned on. Kitchen is nicely equipped with beautify sharp knives but frying pan is useless and there was a strong smell of gas present. We complained, but it was fixed 2 days after. We got a good deal (later we found our that in the same street was like apartments for rent for 30€/night), but the owner came on two separate occasions to ask for a payment for our stay well before check out date. We have found that to be highly unusual and a bit awkward. We got invited to a dinner with owners and other guest of the establishment, but the owner kept a rather cold and uninterested attitude. Owners mother in law was on the other hand very attentive, welcoming and interested in making us all feel relaxed and entertained. Dinner was home made and very tasty, the other guest was nice too, but we left early because of the owners attitude. Double room that we got had a really small bathroom entrance and a larger person wouldn't have a chance to go in. It was nicely cleaned, but it is situated above owners entrance and we heard them screaming at each other in rather disrespectful manner with respectable amount of swear words a couple of times. There is an wi-fi, but keep Your best patience because that thing can break of or drag its legs at any time. To watch a simple YouTube video can be a challenge. We had a lovely friend there in a form of a stray cat with 3 kittens that we fed. Owners mother in law was worried about guests impressions and that cat is a nuisance, but we liked cat much better then arguing family members. In my professional opinion mother in law should run the business and take care of the guests. And definitely keep the stray cat. It was the best thing during our stay, bringing us joy and laughter. We would of took it if she was alone, now her kittens need her.
