Me and my family visited Split! It was amazing holidays! The owner is speaking in English,as well as, croatian.. She was very nice and we got wine like a present , it was really nice. Location - 3min to Bacvice beach. (It is sand beach, probably the only one in split, I am not sure) City centre is around 15 minutes away. Next to beach is "party zone" so during nights it is a bit noisy. All in all - price was perfect the same as place :)

My friend & I (both mid forties) went to Split mainly for sightseeing but chose apartment for proximity to beach for lazy afternoons. Perfect. 10 minutes to ferries, 15 to old town / Diocletian Palace & 5 minutes to  sandy beach. we were able to get into apartment early but had the option to leave bags beforehand if had not been possible. Owner was incredibly helpful. Is in a basement but still light & airy enough. If flying, get the airport shuttle bus into Split which drops you at the ferry port & then short walk. Plenty of luggage storage in that immediate area if you can't get into apartment at the time. Cheap cafes in that area too. cafes & Restaurants plentiful in the old town; never had a bad or anywhere near mediocre meal! In the main squares you pay a bit more so go a bit further out. We found a cluster of places just down from St Gregory's statue which were amazing. We'd tried to learn a bit of Croatian but everyone spoke perfect English.  I think we were mainly paying around £60 for 3 courses, bottle good wine & coffee in the main squares - about £45 just off the centre. The apartment was very clean, had washing machine & plenty of room for 2 singles. For a small family or couple also perfect, maybe a couple + 1 but I think not great space for 2 couples - was so reasonably priced wouldn't matter & depends how much time you'd spend there - for us, was a place to sleep, wash & chill for an hour or 2 after sightseeing or beach. Town busy during the day from cruise ships but quieter, though still busy, in the evening. Worth going for a longer stay, which I'm planning & then venture on the ferries down to Dubrovnik etc for a day or so. Travelling around very easy & local people more than helpful in advice to get around. Absolutely wonderful in every way - am going back!!! There did seem to be some sort of club nearby or possibly Hotel Park next door which was very lively in early hours - it didn't bother us & we couldn't really tell where it was!
