Neat, modern and clean B&B with little rooms (ours was number 5) in quiet location near Rovinj. Room is simple but nicely decorated (3/5) and bedding comfortable (4/5), though a little low and short. Main concern was the very little place for luggage and clothes (1/5). Air conditioning was working fine since it was very hot and being the room little, a bit too warm, but still we managed to feel comfortable (3/5). Pity the bed is far from the window opening on the nice little balcony with sea view, that is great to relax staring at the sea (4/5). In the room there is also a flat TV screen and fridge, as well as a table. Bathroom is modern, very clean and comfortable, with WC and excellent shower (4/5). Breakfast is very good (5/5) with variety of sweet and salted food, that can be also consumed in the veranda or garden, making it a very relaxing experience. Property and personnel are very nice, helpful and informative (5/5); just remember that to check out you need to pay cash in kunas or euros. Parking is not too big but we managed to find place; otherwise you should try on the public street elsewhere. To sum it up it is a nice place but rooms could be more comfortable with space to store clothes and luggage. Don't really know if I'd spend more than 2-3 days, despite everything was ok, whilst personnel and breakfast were indeed excellent.

Very friendly staff, nice location and great views.   Dinner was excellent - especially after a long drive.   Wine was also excellent.     Only negative was that they don't take credit cards-  would have been nice to know before booking. 

Beautiful and friendly

I think there are some pros in Villa Monsena, mainly its view on the town (I dont know what you can see from below the upper floor though), the availability of fresh/cooked items for breakfast, plenty of space to have it outside. The overall feeling was that of a family run facility at its worst, with very little attention to the quality of service, very bleak rooms (spacious though), no linen for beds in particular (?!). We also asked for the window shutter to be repaired, to no avail. Compared to the price we paid (90 euros per night) I think they are very far from a 4-star facility.

Low quality versus price, far from standards

We stayed in Suite 1 and enjoyed the large balcony with a view of the ocean, a functional kitchenette and old town Rovinj just a 3 minute drive away.  The breakfast exceeded our expectations and the staff was friendly and accommodating. On site parking was very convenient.  There is a Mini-Konzum just 2 minutes walk from the villa and a few nice restaurants.  The apartment was exceptionally clean and everything looked relatively new.  Only complaint was that the staff would not accept a credit card for payment (would have been nice to know prior to the booking) and was unable to provide a proper R1 receipt for our bill.

Great location, excellent value

Had a very relaxing stay here with Mladen and family. We had a very comfortable 1 bedroom apartment on the corner of the top floor. It had a kitchenette and two sofas, one of which was a fold-out bed for our daughter. The balcony had a lovely view over the bay towards Rovinj. We had a B&B option and the breakfast was fantastic - fresh fruit, ham, eggs, tomatoes, peppers, fresh coffee and more. Mladen also offers seafood dinners @ Euro 20 per head, drinks included - local wine, beer and grappa. The fish was superb. They also arranged pizza deliveries for us. While the Villa is about ten minutes drive / 25 minutes walk from Rovinj town , there are two restaurants, a mini market & ATM a couple of minutes walk away. It's 10 mins walk to the nearest beach where there is another market, an ATM and a beachside bar/cafe. We walked to town, stopping at the beach for a drink and a swim each way. If you're driving or have bicycles, then Villa Monsena is ideal for exploring the area. There was ample parking in from of The hotel.
