Interesting old school hotel, BUT, all fire escapes were locked! When confronting staff about it, they laughed and did not understand how serious this is. This is illegal, and, of course, highly dangerous. In case of fire, a disaster will happen. Please fix this immediately. 

A hotel which does not care about the safety of its guestss

My family and I travel a lot ; all around the world. We spend  the night in 4 and 5 * hotels, where the prices are sometimes even 350 euros per night. This time we kindly  accepted the invitation of the bride and groom to be guest on their wedding. The wedding was organized by the company PLATER USLUGE ZAGREB, which leases the Dom Hrvatskih branitelja from the state of Croatia and THEY ALSO  manages the Hotel Veli Jože in Pula. Rooms were reserved also for us by our friend, 5 rooms were reserved. Around 6 pm, my husband and I arrived at the hotel Veli Jože, where we received the keys and a three-bed room. My husband went to the reception and explained that we had booked a 2-bed room. The lady said let's stay. Around 10 p.m., a problem arose because other families who had booked rooms with us just didn't get them. We had already showered, after which they called us to change rooms??? I called on reception from the wedding at 10.30 p.m. and the women on reception told me, that is everything OK, that they have 3 3-bedrooms more and 1 2 bedroom.  At 4:30 in the morning we came from the wedding  , together with another family,  in a good mood, of course, we also drank a glass or two of wine, which means that we were absolutely not allowed to drive the car. We got a shock. There was a family of 3 with us,
 (Another three-members family were on the  way to the hotel), and the hotel was full, and there was only one more double room available. Then the receptionist told me at 4:30 in the morning that I should pack my  baggage and my belongings and move them to one floor higher of course by myself and more; the new guests should have dirty towels and they could sleep in our room (????). More. he very rudely and insolently demanded that our friends' child sleep in our room. Which is not a problem for us, but the child did not accept it because he is too small. So the family was forced to drive 120 km back home at 4.30 am, after a party ( a wedding), because the hotel did not have a room for them!!!!!!  All responsibility must therefore be accepted by Tatjana Abram, and we will use all legal means to make her responsible for this. I can't imagine  if an accident happening  during they drove home, because the driver fell asleep from fatigue, there were also reports of a child dying. Shame on you Tatjana Abram. if you are not capable of running a hotel and only collecting money from people, even for hall rentals, then go into the field because you are not capable of doing your job professionally. Of course, I will inform the competent authorities in the Republic of Croatia and also in the Republic of SLO about this. The state MUST  simply not allowed to rent real estate to such people. To people who make fools of their guests.

I will inform t about this happening  tourist board, which issues the categorization, and the competent Minister of Tourism in Croatia all  about your disorganization. I strongly advise all brides and grooms not to rent the Dom Hrvatskog  Branitelja for their wedding, let alone to have their guests stay overnight in the Hotel Veli Jože. And Mrs. Tatjana Abram, don't think that we ( guests) who slept there are poor, we chose this hotel because it was part of the reservation. Many prominent businessmen slept in this hotel that night, some of us also own 5* hotels, quite a few distinguished guests, but despite the fact that their reservations were confirmed, they had to travel from 120 to 250 km.

PLEASE AVOID THIS HOTEL AND AVOID PLATER USLUGE ZAGREB

The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. It was equipped with a perfectly working air con and a fridge.
Breakfast was alright with hit & cold components but the presentation could be updated.

The hotel looks like it needs some renovation: the furniture is very simple and from the 80’s. my room was to the street side and had very old double windows which barely kept the noise out.
There were no hairdryer or safe. The hallways and exterior looked very neglected (paint coming off everwhere).

Ok for a night or two

We stayed two nights in this hotel, chosen not to save, but only because it seemed like the only free place in the world. We knew it was a two-star hotel, so we left without expectations. However, honestly I feel like I said that the two-star hotel is not worth it anyway. It's a hotel in a historic building, which was used as a barracks. And I think it stayed the same as 900, even in the plants and the squares. Very cold, carpet everywhere with many stains, small and uncomfortable bathroom, dark wood from the rotated window and fixed taping the hole with a dry cleaning card........to make you understand. And what to know, without an elevator. We are young and we were little, so climbing the stairs doesn't seem to be a strange problem, but I think it's already been done with a lot of other people in the room, but it was also possible to pay a lot of money for a couple of people in the room.

If you can 't find anything else, you can settle for it.

A very good time as a family; we were served quickly and enjoyed ourselves; with excellent molds in particular 👍👍👍 We ate indoors because there was no more room on the terrace but we didn't regret coming; on the contrary we recommend this place.

A very good meal

A quiet hotel with comfortable mattresses and functioning air conditioning, 20 minutes' walk from the city centre and 3 minutes from the bus stop, but with a price too high (80 euros x 2 people, 3 nights!) for the offer: a bed had the power supply in the middle of the counter, very uncomfortable; bathroom with a single tiny pendant, support for the low and shaky shower cornet, old dirty shower curtain. There is no elevator, so keep that in mind if you have small children, carriages or you are old (there are 4 floors of stairs!). International breakfast but nothing but: krap marble, corn flakes, yogurt and fruit, sliced, wurstel, apples and cuttlefish, baked bread, sweetened and dried coffee and powdered in the dishes.

Well, there's better than that.

We stayed here for one night and our general experience was very good. 
It is a 2 star hotel and this needs to be taken into consideration.
That being said, staff was very nice, rooms are OK-looking and pretty clean. 
Breakfast was very good and even though there are not too many parking spots available, we were lucky enough to get one right away (a lot of the hotels in Pula don’t have parking spots at all!). 
Also, the hotel has free wi-fi all around the object which was also not the case in some other hotels). Mattresses are not the best ones around but decent for a short stay (as is the case for the hotel in general).

An above average 2 star hotel!

Old structure, bad smell, not very attractive, but kind staff and cheap. What you pay is what you get. The parking is quite small, but it's not far from the center of the city. The breakfast is quite poor but ok.

Decent

The hotel has no parking lot for the guests, and if you park somewhere else you will get a parking ticket.. the best way is not to come by car and use tranport services from the city (taxi or bus)....

No parking space

The hotel is in a very bad condition. Rooms and carpets are dirty. Blankets are not washed. Danger of infection. The toilet is in a terrible condition. The windows can't be closed. Breakfast is very bad. Staff is kind tho.
