Guesthouse Villa Marija

Just enjoyed a wonderful stay at villa Maria , can't recommend this place enough, Lorena and her family are so welcoming and the views are breathtaking. We were in the double room with balcony and it was cosy and comfortable. Motovun is a pretty little village to visit, not much to do and the restaurants shut by 11pm but lovely food, mainly truffle orientated food , we had the best food ever at restaurant konoba Mondo just outside the main wall. It was fantastic I had 4 cheese ravioli and my husband had spicy prawn linguine, both absolutely amazing!!. The wall is free to walk after 8pm but they charge 5 euro during the day. Lorena picks you up from the cemetery car park for free if you are guests and parking free otherwise it's a long hour climb as parking is restricted to resident only. Would recommend the truffle excursion but take your mosquito repellent and wear socks as wellies will be provided. Michael is so nice Lorena's son and the dogs are very friendly , we didn't have the lunch so can't comment on that. There is no supermarket or shop in motovun so take your own supplies if you are staying there a few days. Like wine and water, I wouldn't recommend the cheap local wine lol
