Guest House Izvor

Away from the city, a place reminiscent of a rural tourism homestead. The surroundings are beautiful nature with mountains, and the hosts are very helpful, sincere and friendly people. Even offered to have a drink after the trip. Provided information about the area and had great conversation. It is a great place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The room was cozy and suitable for a pleasant rest. The food is made on site and fresh. Breakfast and parking included in the price met all expectations. And at the end of our stay, we got the opportunity to buy homemade honey.
The location is also close to Plitvice Park

We spent a delightful 2 nights while visiting the park. Tom was a fantastic host with great suggestions, sense of humor, and wonderful hospitality. The food was excellent and breakfast especially is not to be missed. Happy hour offered a great view (from the dining area.) The apartment was very spacious, with laundry, comfortable beds, and a small patio. We rented a car and that gave us great flexibility as the property is off the main road and a 10 minute drive from the park. Highly recommend!!

House Izvor is not located near the majority of apartments between Slunj and Plitvička Jezera. The apartments are a little bit more on the south in a remote location of Čujića Krčevina. The location guarantees tranquility for your stay in NP Plitvicka jezera: no sounds from the road and away from the crowds. This is a place where you can relax and enjoy all the hospitality from Tomislav, the owner. He takes care of anything you need: information, a comfortable stay, and also a gourmet experience. Breakfast is tasty and abundant but what really makes this place also a gourmet experience is the dinner that Tomislav prepares.

We enjoyed a two night stay at House Izvor while we visited the Lakes. Tom's place is in the most beautiful surroundings and our room was perfect and extremely clean. 

The best part for us was Tom's hospitality. Every evening he would cook us a 3 course meal (one evening he made an extra course of soup to warm us up as it was cold!) with fresh ingredients from nearby, including eggs from the chickens and honey from the bees in the garden! We enjoyed this fantastic food, with wine (and shots!) for just €20 per person.

The guest house is close to the lakes, but as we didn't have a car Tom very kindly drove us to and from the lakes and the bus stop four times. 

We cannot recommend House Izvor and the brilliant Tom enough!

Spent one night there but wished it had been longer. Tom is a lovely host who cares a lot, he cooked us great dinner and breakfast and gave us a really good conversation. Enjoyed every minute, the rooms are nice and clean and the surroundings are awazing ❤️

This is a farmhouse with rooms providing breakfast and evening meals.  It is in a beautiful location in the heart of the countryside, near Plitvice Lakes, where the the very friendly and helpful owner will collect you and deliver you in his car.  They provide delicious home-cooked meals, essential as it is a long way from any restaurants.  It is surrounded by extensive grounds with views of the hills - a refreshing change from Zadar where I had just been.

The room was comfortable, clean and spacious - although I was travelling alone I had a triple room as it was the last one available, so much bigger than I needed.

Thomas welcomed us into the home he built, provided us with pristine rooms, cooked for us personally whenever we were hungry, cooked authentic local dishes, was an absolute gentleman, ans drove us to/from Plitvice national park as we wish. On the last day we were set to leave by bus at 6:30am, but there was a surprise snowstorm that dropped almost 1 meter of snow overnight so we couldn't get there. Thomas dug out his car, scraped the road for his car, called the city to scrape his long driveway, then drove us 120km to the airport. On the way he took us to Rastoke to see a stunningly beautiful town built on waterfalls.   Absolutely everything exceeded our expectations!!!=)

We're a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teens). We stayed in Tom's lovely and remote guest house for two nights while we visited the lakes at Plitvice. Tom is a kind and generous host, and a great cook - we enjoyed eating dinner and breakfast on the beautiful veranda, and Tom had very good advice for us about how to get the most out of visiting the lakes during the busy summer season. We were very glad to stay in House Izvor and will gladly stay there again.

House izvor is located 5-10 minutes apart by a car from the entrance 2. The host picked us up if I called him, and showed us very great welcome. 
He offered very nice dinner for us, and it was chargable(25Euro). It seems that the menu is variable day by day, and it contains also wine. Very nice dinner :) 
If you lie on the road drunken with wine, you can see wonderful view. You can see the sunset and as time goes by, the stars are spread on the entire sky. I cannot forget all of these. Kind host (also humorous), the stars, wine and great dinner. In addition, you can get cozy and good room with very cheap price. (I swear that I'm not the manager of this house :D House izvor is wonderful and wonderful)

Perfectly placed for a visit to the Plitvice National Park (entrance 2). A lovely, rustic place in beautiful surroundings – we’d never seen so many house martins wheeling around. 

Tom runs the show and is efficient and welcoming. The room was airy, spacious and comfortable with a good shower, but no fridge or satellite TV, just terrestrial, but given Croatian TV airs lots of English-language films and series in original language with Croatian subtitles, there’s more choice than you might think.

The food was very, very good and portions normal, but you must let Tom know when you make your booking that you want to eat, otherwise you’ll get nothing - really. Dinner was served promptly at 7pm, but check the time for your stay, and it’s a single set menu, so if you have allergies say so in advance.

Breakfast was generous and tasty, and make sure you ask for eggs if you want them, or anything else you think could be on offer, because Tom might forget to put it out. He’s a busy man. Overall, highly recommended.
