Guest House Šumski dvor

We spent here only one night after a one day trip to Plitvice Lakes but it was all really good. The room was very nice and clean and Nadia, the owner, cooked for us a delicious traditional breakfast. The guest house is 30 minutes away from the lakes but the atmosphere in which it is immersed and the peace all around surely worth the way. It doesn't have it's own restaurant but you cand find something good and not so expansive not so far away from there. Next time we will stay longer.

A one-night nice stay

Rented the place for a New Years Eve party. Foolishly agreed to pay the whole sum in advance. Upon arrival, discovered that quite a few amenities agreed and paid for have "broken down or stopped working right before we arrived". Those included a working oven, wifi, and, I kid you not, *running water*!  Yes, seriously,  there was no running water in most of the house. The conundrum of why we had to pay in advance thus became abundantly clear. Recommended for masochists and the like fans of extreme discomfort, also for the people who like the sensation of having thrown your hard earned cash away to brigands.

Would *strongly* not recommend

We went there for a weekend in winter and practically froze to death. The heating doesn't work well and neither do the bathrooms. It was so cold that the windows were frozen from the inside (house is unfinished and has no real insulation). Host didn't respond to phone calls and ignored all complaints. No tv, no wifi.

No heating and no hot water.

Very very dirty , bathroom not working, insects everywhere, dinner disgusting, building not completed, no television in the room, in the middle of nowhere. Very expensive for the place and the service. Nothing positive. To send medical officer of the area.
