We had smaller room downstair which was perfect since we had a crawling baby with us. The room was OK, nothing special. But there was everything we needed. There was supermarket close and some restaurants. There were more restaurants about 5-10min walking distance. Quiet location and easy walking to the beach, just walk next to the sea and you won't get lost. Best of all was the owner lady who lived next door to us. She made sure we and our son had a great time.

Super nice owners

Very nice accommodation (penthouse: two bedrooms and two bathrooms, kitchen, living room,  terrace), lovely host family and wonderful scenery to harbour. I warmly recommend this apartment! Only small "issue" was that wi-fi didn't work properly all the time.

Lovely accommodation

I stayed here because I needed to be close to University of Dubrovnik; there's a conference. But later I realized that Dubrovnik is quite small that you can travel almost anywhere easily. Walking would be possible and nice if you got time. Public bus would cost 15 Kuna to anywhere (12 Kuna if ticket purchased from a counter at selected bus stops). When we went to Montenegro and Mostar, the travel agent knew the place; so they just came to picked us up from the apartment. Our apartment was spacious. We occupied the whole of top floor. There were two bedrooms, each had a bathroom. Kitchen was fully functioning. It has air-conditioner (cooler & heater), but in September, the ambient air was just nice that we did not need to turn on the air-conditioner. Straight from the hall, we could see through the veranda luxury ships coming in and out of the port; every day you got to see different ships. And there's a washing machine, which we found helpful. For the groceries, there's PEMO discount store, which was 5 minutes walking. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Wifi was available and here I made good use of it to access Google Map and Google translate.

Very nice apartment for the crowd

Lovely apartment situated opposite the port of Gruz ( no noise from the port) had a fab view on top floor watching the super yachts and cruise ships coming in. The apartment which is one of three in a four storey stone townhouse has everything you need to self cater, two big double bedrooms, two good sized bathrooms and a long kitchen/living area with a comfy sofa bed ( its not a pull out one so it is very comfortable and generously sized). The area is very quiet and the locals like to keep it that way. Late night noise and early morning noise is not accepted.Threres also a once a week clean bed linen and towels included in the price.
Its 10 mins on the bus to Dubrovnik old city gate and the bus stop is ten min walk max from the apartment. There is a small supermarket at the bottom of the street selling everything you would need. Being Dubrovnik there are steps and slopes everywhere but thats the case over the whole of the area. Theres a rough but lovely path through lime trees, fig trees,plum trees past beautiful scents of basil and rosemary over to Copacabana beach. The Budman hosts, mother and son, are so very helpful and generous. Mario picked us up and brought us back to the airport for the same price as a taxi. the airport is small but very modern. He is very knowlegable about the war and the suffereings of his counrty and showed us some interesting sights. Its important to remember the war in Croatia is still very fresh in peoples minds and the scars on the landscape bear testament to all that they went through.

Great Apartments Wonderful Hosts!

We had trouble finding the apartment as Trpanjska is more of an alley than a street and there was no street sign. We ended up calling the apartment and the owner's son came to meet us and brought us to the apartment. We rented the 2 bedroom which was on the top floor and had an unobstructed view of the harbor where the cruise ships dock. 

Besides the two bedrooms, there were also two bathrooms which was nice and a full kitchen. One of the bathrooms also had a washing machine. The air conditioning was only in the living room, but we were there in early September and the night was relative cool so it was not a problem. Although the apartment advertised free wifi but it only worked intermittently with my iPad and the signal was weak.

There was a small grocery store within 5 minutes walk and the bus stop to the old town was also not too far away. The apartment is also close to the Copacabana Beach. 

If you are looking for a place to stay with a lot of actions nearby this is not the place, but if you looking for a nice apartment in a quiet neighborhood in Dubrovnik, I would definitely recommend the Budman.
