Apartments Vrata Baranje

The location is in a grrat place to move aroun, to Baranja, Kopacki rit, Vukovar, Osijek and Djakovo. The hosts are friendly, helpful and full of information. The parking is great, wi-fi is strong. There is everything you need in the kitchen and you can get some fresh fruit from the host. The facility exceeded my expectations.

We stayed 3 nights and the owners gave us a friendly welcome.  The apartment is well equipped and €50 per night for the two of us with breakfast - we felt this is a good price.  It is close to Osijek and the Kopacki Rit National Park where we had a good walk.

Handy as located at the entrance of Bilje so just over the bridge and along from Osijek, so 10mins. from there and also close to the National Park where we went and did a little boat tour. This is all pre-Euro for now and it is all so cheap!
The place is held by a charming couple who can't do more to be helpful and the rooms are just what you need - practical and clean.

My advice is, don't be shy and talk about Croatia over a good breakfast and yes, including the war and you'll get a better feel for the country. The hens are very local too so have some eggs while you're at it!

We were more than happy to find Zdenko's house. He was a fantastic host and a pretty good breakfast cook too. Since it was the end of the season we had a large room across the  top floor. The balcony was a nice place to enjoy a glass of wine and soak up some of the late summer sun. The kitchen was also well equipped and we prepared light meals there a couple of times. Avail yourself of the local knowledge some of Zdenko's stories. It will be an informative conversation.

Quiet little alcove central to lots of activities.

Perfect - Local - Practical - Good Price - Good Breakfast!

Very quiet and friendly

We arrived but there was no one to check us in. We rang the owner who said he would ring back but he didn’t and so we were forced to leave and find somewhere else. 
We were glad to leave as the place looked really shabby. We also got bitten to pieces by mosquitoes while we were waiting - at least 30 bites each.
AVOID.

No one there 

We arrived mid evening. There was nobody there to meet us. Rang the owner who promised to ring back but he didn’t. After half an hour waiting we left to seek somewhere else to stay.
It’s a scruffy looking place by the way and the mosquitoes are appalling. AVOID.
