Playa Grande Park Hotel

We spent 2 weeks at the hotel. The hotel is about a 2 minute walk from the beautiful Playa Grande beach. The beach is a favourite spot or local surfers. At least 6 reasonably priced restaurants are within a 1 km distance for breakfast, lunch or dinner There are local tour operator kiosks that will pick up tourists in Playa Grande (just north of Tamarindo). Playa Grande is Hotel is located in a designated leatherback sea turtle sanctuary, and thus the area is very undisturbed. Weather was in the 90s and dry each day. We had rain on one night, which we were told was very unusual, as the west coast of Costa Rica is very dry in the winter season, We had a rental car, and therefore ventured out usually every other day to see various beaches along the coast. We were looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation. Playa Grande Hotel provided it. We spent some time wandering the beach daily, and watching the sunsets. Each evening, all the residents and tourists tend to walk down the road to watch the setting sun. We spent many afternoons lounging and reading by the pool. The pool was only 5 metres from our patio door. The pool area is spotless and quiet, surrounded by palm trees, flowers, vines. Birds frequently sit in the surrounding trees. The staff is small and very friendly. The room was cleaned spotlessly every day. Each day, we were given new beach towels. The hotel offers a good breakfast. We bought some food supplies and snacks for the refrigertor at a local store. The area is very secluded, and each night the stars were highly visible, This is not a night spot location. We met many tourists from the USA, Ireland, and Canada during our stay. Olga at the front desk was most helpful with any of of inquiries. Having a car was most helpful, because it is about a 30 minute drive to Tamarindo and and 90 minute drive to the Liberia airport. It is about a 5 hour drive to San Jose,
