I was in town for a 3-week graduate course and decided to stay at this 6-room hotel, previously home to a former vice president. I selected this hotel because of the stellar reviews and good price, and I was not disappointed. The staff, led by the most wonderful host, Sarah, were exceptionally professional, meticulous, and friendly. By the end of my stay, I felt like part of the family. The staff were constantly working, and ensuring that all was perfect at all times. They even cleaned all six room every day, even if the rooms were unoccupied. The staff anticipated my every need and made me completely comfortable. From the beautiful daily breakfasts to carefully cleaning my room to arranging excursions, I was well taken care of. On top of this all, the hotel and grounds were absolutely breathtaking. They were well-manicured and filled with fruit trees, flowers and hummingbirds, while the back of the property overlooked a lush canyon that was home to countless birds. I don’t know when I will visit Costa Rica next, but I will most certainly be staying at Hotel Villa Colon. It really doesn’t get any better than this.
