I did spend a night at this hotel some time ago. The room was horrible, the bathroom had a small like, water dripping all night. Rats running all night near the walls, The bedding was like from a cheap motel. Please stay away from this dump!

Breakfast was 5/10. I am from Costa Rica... I was embarrassed, I would recommend TripAdvisor NOT to promote this hotel.

THE WORST NIGHT EVER!

I spent the worse night at this hotel!!!! A romantic night end up with allergies in a dirty room. Bedding was horrible and I’m not sure it was clean. The mattress was very old and worn out. The bathroom wasn’t any better, flushing handle was broken, I had to remove the lid of the tank to pull the chain to flush it.

Nice and spacious cabins, hot shower, good breakfast. Very quiet, shops half an hour walk, easy access to National Park and volcano if open.Safety protocols strictly enforced including temperature check at check-in.

This hotel is so mismanaged that although it is on a pretty setting and the rooms are attractive the owner is completely irresponsible bad tempered and dishonest. He repeatedly infuriates his customers by not delivering service promised and paid for. I have seen several angry confrontations where the police had to be called. I do not recommend this hotel at all!

Beware!

Came by this place by accident as I was in the area. It caught my eye and we decided to try the food. Waiter recommended the freshly made pasta. Don't be in a hurry when you come though. They make everything fresh but the wait is worth it.

The hotel is only about 30 minutes from Heredia downtown, and 25 minutes from the Juan Santamaria Airport, I stayed at this hotel on my last trip to Costa Rica, I went there with my Girlfriend and we had a very lovely time. 

It was a little difficult to find the location of the hotel, but after we asked some locals they sent us on the right direction. 

This is a small Boutique Hotel, yet they have over 25 rooms and some Suites. We were giving a  Suite since they were fully booked on the outside cabinas. 

The room was  very nice, apparently they only built them last year so they were fairly new. 

At night we wanted to go to a local restaurant but the only place near by some local bar was not great, therefore we decided to eat at the Restaurant within the Hotel El Portico. 

It took a little while to get the food but the atmosphere was very pleasant, had some wine and then they brought our plates.  We ordered Alfredo pasta and some Shrimps a la Diabla which were totally worth the wait.

I  will recommend this hotel to anyone, but two things book in advance as they do get filled up pretty quickly and come to the restaurant early as in most restaurants first come first serve.

Excellent Experience ! Great Location and Great Service

I was Ben with my girlfriend Saturday 04 of august around 9:30 pm, we will try to have a evening in romantic and special , Location is nice and the entrance looks very rustic beautiful place so I decide to paid and have a nice evening, they give me the key of the room and surprise really tiny and poor room,  breakfast is included but terrible even I can eat the pinto, I never go back again in this place. just the location and nature is beautiful. hotel sucks, price sucks, food suck.

toooooo expensive $70 per nigth and very poor and simple hotel

While I was on a Backpacking Tour in Costa Rica i spent two nights in this amazing hotel. It is in the mountains and very cozy. It is near to the airport so perfect when you arrive or have to leave to spent the first or last days there! It is really worth it!
We met some couples who spend their honeymoon there, which seems to be a good idea. You feel like home there! Thw owners are very friendly and it is clean and comfortable.
The breakfast was riquísimo!!!
When i go back to Costa Rica i'd love to spend more time there!

Special Flair

This hotel is in the Jungle and high in the Mountains by a non active volcano.  Far away from alot of activities and resturants.  They have a resturant in Hotel but if you want some fast food, have to go into town which is far to get it.  relaxation and quite you will find here, no ocean is near. A MUST IS TO RENT A CAR WITH A GPS.
