Close to museums and supermarkets.
Short walk to down town. 
5 min taxi to bus station. 
Ask for a room with a view so you don't get the internal room with no external windows and a pokey bathroom. 
Helpful host, noisy dog. 


Convenient stay 

I would like to welcome a former Swiss from the owner Patrick very warmly. I have received many tips for visits and shopping in the area. The location of the small hotel is great, just around the corner is the National Museum and the Jade Museum. Shops and restaurants can also be reached on foot in a few minutes. The hotel is small, very clean and in a great location. The breakfast is prepared here by the owner personally for the guests in the morning. It all reminds a little more of a visit with friends. Thank you very much for your kindness and support, I would love to come back.

It's like coming to friends...

We spent give days in this hotel. It is clean and very conveniently located near the centre of the city. The owner is very helpful. Patrick arranged trips for us, advised us how to get to some places by bus on our own, which helped us to save money. We felt like at home.

Perfect location and friendly atmosphere

Very nice reception, support / information for further travel, delicious breakfast, small but comfortable rooms, very clean. Central, safe location of accommodation. Pick-up service from the airport has worked impeccably.

Just the tip!

The hotel is located in a quiet and very central area, so the places to visit in San José are within walking distance.The receptionist is very friendly and very willing to give information.The only drawback was that the room we occupied was adjacent to the kitchen so the noise in the morning started very early and was heard as if it were inside the same room.

Good location

We spent a few very pleasant nights here. The owner, Patrick, is an open, kind and hospitable host. Accommodation and living in the Casa Leon was easy - Patrick even had a small 'excursion room' ready for us very early in the morning, where we could refresh ourselves and unpack after the long flight. Rooms and bathrooms were clean, the beds very comfortable, breakfast delicious, in short: we had nothing to put on. We'd love to come back again!

Nice hotel with a very nice host

Loved this place! Our host, Patrick, was extremely welcoming and went out of his way to ensure we had a great stay - e.g. lending us an umbrella, booking cabs and offering tips for restaurants and days out! He made a great breakfast each morning, the room was clean and comfortable and the central location was also perfect. We ended up returning to spend two more nights here and will come back next time we are in San Jose :) Only downside was that the train outside is really loud, not that anything can be done about this!

Patrick is a very helpful and friendly host! I felt like at home! His hotel is located at the center, all what you need is very close! I would stay here afain and of course, I can recommend this place very much!

A lovely small hotel with absolutely lovely owners, a Swiss/Tico couple, and we will help you if you need anything! Affordable price, plenty of breakfast (custom coffee, large plate of fruit, eggs and grilled bread). The rooms are very clean and the hotel is 10 minutes' walk from Central Park. Recommended!
