The house is quiet and away from tourism right on the beautiful Matapalo Beach. The cabanas have everything you need, a good bed, air conditioning, ventilator, refrigerator, etc. On the terrace you can relax wonderfully with a direct view of the ocean and the great branding. During the morning walk with dog Cleo, who took good care of us, we were completely alone with the beach and the sea. Good quality restaurants are within walking distance or within a few minutes by car. Kevin manages the hotel, organizes excursions and makes great breakfast. We felt safe and comfortable. Happy again!!!

Beach cabanas for chilling

Playa Matapalo is one of Costa Rica’s best kept secrets. Its spectacular beach stretches some 40+ km and has perfect fine sand the entire length. We were at Dos Palmas over Christmas and the beach was not very busy at all. The 2 cabinas are very private and you get your own private table for breakfast, making this the perfect romantic getaway. The rooms are very clean and well kept. The owner is friendly and helpful and happy to recommend restaurants and activities in the area. 

Relax and watch the waves roll in and catch the spectacular sunsets every day!

Friendly and relaxing atmosphere.

The location is unbeatable, and the two rooms are in very good condition, there are beds in the garden, mattresses are available. The place is excellent for a rest, the wildlife is impressive. Breakfast comes on demand, about 8 euros, the only drawback is the desired cash payment. Restaurant in running distance.

Best location

From the planned 3-4 days, a 7-day stay in Dos Palmos has become a reality. Then we had to go home. The price ratio is great at the dream spot right on the beach, including sea views and beautiful sunsets. We would like to highlight the lovely and helpful owners Peter and Anja. They gave us great insider tips every day for excursions, entertainment and dinner. Peter organized an unforgettable whale watching tour for us, we were lucky enough to borrow his electric roller coasters and surfboards. Our kids (16 and 17 years old) were racing with the 3 lovely dogs on the beach.

A dream place with great service.

The Dos Palmas is a very nice, well-kept, clean and comfortable accommodation. The management Anja and Peter created a little paradise and we felt very comfortable. The services went beyond the normal service and the direct beach walk overlooking the sea is simply fantastic. The breakfast is served directly by the chef on his own terrace and is excellent. In addition, we just had a delicious fruit cocktail in between at the sunny side.

Wonderful beachfront accommodation - an unforgettable experience and definitely to recommend!

Welcome, location right on the beach, huge beach where we are almost alone. Super breakfast. Spacious and comfortable room. Despite all the quality ratio, the price is high compared to other accommodations in the same area.

Very well placed.

The beach house is very well maintained and has a terrace with great sea views, including beautiful sunsets. The German owner couple is very friendly and likes to give tips on what to do in the area. A morning walk along the beach with their cute dogs was a hifhlight for us.

A nice place to chill

Also it's Christmas time, all beaches we visit was almost empty!
We had our own beach. 
Peter was very helpful with "where to go" suggestions so we had the opportunity to discover the "local attractions" without be in a crowd of tourists. 

The quality of our room is very well justify the price.

Wow. What a place!

Contacted several times but never responded to rent.  Not sure they are still renting.  After 3 emails I moved on to another location.  Was very polite in my request.  We hope to visit this wonderful country again.  Hoping that these owners are ok.

We visited matapalo after searching for a quiet out of the way place, to chill out at and access manuel Antonio. 
After very little research and being advised of this place by somewhere else that was full, we were not disappointed! This area is beautiful! It's isolated and tranquil, you can hear the sea from your room and watch the sunset from the cabinas hammock! The beach is great for surfing and body boarding, if a little strong for swimming. There's also a very cute turtle sanctuary on the beach manned by volunteers. 
Rachel and Adam are brilliant hosts, chilled out and knowledgeable and our room was very clean. guava bar and happy lobster closeby served some of the best fish we had in two weeks. 
If you want romantic, chilled out, off the beaten track this is amazing!!
