Very disappointed book two rooms my self and family my reservation was done 3 months in advance.When I get there they try selling  me that I book at the wrong hotel that there was no reservation for me.After I give them all the info they told me that isn’t possible that I have a reservation with them because they block that day out from December 2022, I told them my reservation was done since November 3rd so was book before they block out days.   Suddenly they found my reservation but they didn’t honor it because supposedly they cancel my reservation and Expedia didn’t notify me so they all the blame on Expedia.Ask them what is the reason for my reservation to be cancel they could not explain.But I figure it out my self, I got a reasonable rate I advance and since was the festivities days in town they figure as well that they could get double are triple the price for room that I book so was pretty easy to cancel my reservation and rebooked the room to some else. I asked if I could get a room of course there was none available due to the high demand.My family and my self stay stranded very disappointed trip.Will never book with them again seems to me like this is a common practice whenever they have high demand for rooms .

I give this hotel the highest rating because in a case where the right was on their side after we had a misplaced service booking, the operators were extremely friendly and welcoming, which saved us a lot of money.

Two weeks in a row we stayed with two different groups in this great little hotel. The rooms are clean, the water is hot, breakfast was awesome and the hotel is secure. It is conveniently located in the center of Santa Maria de Dota. Walking distance to one the best coffee shops in the world!

Located in the hotel is a beauty salon for hair, nails and spa. They also have the best cevichria (seafood restaurant) in Dota! Even though he specializes in seafood the chicken sandwich is excellent!!

I highly recommend Valle Verde to anyone staying in Santa Maria de Dota!

A great experience! A great value!!

I felt super comfortable in the hotel, we spent about 3 days there enjoying the relaxed atmosphere, the very friendly owners and good people. A familiar hotel with the option of getting a massage. The very rich restaurant with typical food, Pura Vida!! Santa María is a very different part of Costa Rica but highly recommended to visit.

Completely satisfied!!

Exquisite food and enough to satisfy you... the prices are fine not very expensive... you have a lot of variety and in a cozy and clean environment... it has two rooms, a small type cafeteria and a large restaurant where you can hold category events with very good attention.

It's a lovely place to visit.

This little place has very friendly & accommodating owner. We had a small and clean room. Owner took us to a small restaurant where we had delicious campesino breakfast which was included in the room rate. We also drove up to see the coffee farm. Beautiful place. We left with a bag of ground coffee. It was one of the best. Wished we bought more. They really produce great quality coffee.

We absolutely loved it in Santa Maria at Valle Verde Hotel.  Luis was a warm host who made us feel very welcome.  He also gave us a tour of the mountains, coffee fields, and to their ranch high up which was gorgeous. The breakfasts were provided by Soda Ceci.  Cecilia was fun and an awesome cook!  We had fresh fruit, gallo pinto, eggs, etc.  We traveled through Costa Rica for 10 days and the 2 rewarding days that we spent at Valle Verde Hotel and the "Los Santos" region were easily our favorite.

Absolutely wonderful

This place is really beautiful, it has an incredible view and beautiful landscapes that are greatly enjoyed if you travel with friends who also enjoy rural tourism. On this occasion we could not stay at the hotel but we have already done it a couple of times when we visited the area. The people are very friendly and the owners of the hotel are very special people. The rooms are simple but very clean and have hot water and everything needed for a comfortable stay. The delicious breakfast and super reasonable prices. During the day you can visit the benefit, get to know the process of coffee together, learn the preparation of it and taste in the cafe Privilegios a delicious cold coffee or with the local refreshments. Here is a course of romantic barism that all of us can enjoy in the cafe.

Visit to the Beneficio and surrounding areas.

Great, great breakfast! Seriously, it was amazing. Homemade food brought to you by a woman in town that owns one of the sodas. This place has a great location and you can walk to anything you want or need, including the Coopedota coffee co-op. The room worked in every capacity and everything at this hotel is pretty good except for the barking dogs that howl throughout the entire night. I only stayed 1 night so I can't say if this is a common occurrence due to some lousy neighbors or if it was a freak accident. Just maybe have a backup plan in case of the dogs. Or bring earplugs.

That'll Work!

I spent 5 nights at Valley Verde while in town for work around coffee. The hotel is right in the center of the little town, a 2 minute walk from the grocery store, MUSOC bus station, and Coopedota coffee mill and excellent coffee shop!

The rooms were clean, had the hottest water I've had in Costa Rica, and all have TVs.

The restaurant downstairs was delicious (best chicken soup with a Latin twist!) and reasonably priced. The couple who owns the hotel also runs tours up to their mountain finca, which has great trails and stunning views, plus a really pretty well kept 'rustic' cabin for groups. 

Make sure you let them know what time you're arriving because the reception isn't 24hours.

If traveling by MUSOC bus from San Jose, buy your ticket in advance; they do fill up. But of all the lines that run to the different areas of the country, they're probably the most reliable and comfortable.
