Cabinas La Parcela

The location is amazing. Views are great. You need a car (preferably a 4x4) , it's pretty tough to get around Dominical without one. Also make sure you have whatsapp so you can communicate with local businesses. The room is simple and clean. Smells a bit moldy and wet (expected) There are 2 beds with sheets and pillows (no blankets). There's an AC (which tripped every time it rained and eventually stopped working - but they fixed it the next day <3), a small fridge (which we thought was broken, but wasn't actually plugged in), so check. There's a good closet, but there are no hangers, and I had to makeshift the closet to hang a pole across. The bathroom is basic, and you should bring everything with you. They give you a small bar of soap, but you should bring shampoo etc. with you. The tiles by the toilet and shower are a bit loose and the grout between them (by the toilet) is non-existent, so you can see through to the ground. It was a bit nerve racking but by the end we had lost our fear of using the toilet. And there is hot water, but it's not easy to figure out how to get it hot...by the end we had a way...but our neighbors weren't so lucky. There's no sleeping in, there are blinds on the side of the cabina, but the curtains don't block out the light. My friend saw monkeys on our balcony one morning, but I wasn't so lucky. We paid when we arrived in cash. We were quoted one price, but it was actually more expensive (not much) so double check. Also make sure you download whatsapp so you can communicate with the people who run the place. It seems like the people who work in the restaurant are loosely connected to them cabinas but not officially. The wifi isn't bad, but some days were better than others. It was a bit of a mission to figure that out. We also asked them to change our towels, and the lady came and cleaned the room and switched out the towels, which was awesome. The restaurant location is incredible. The drinks and juices are fresh and I would suggest ordering the local dishes like the rice and beans or chicken and rice. The restaurant only opens at 11am. It's easy to walk down to the beach too, but you have to walk a bit in order to jump in the water. Take cash with you because even though most places take cards, the businesses on the water are mostly cash only and if you want a coffee or drink while you are there that's the best bet. Because this was so affordable, we didn't really feel like we could make many demands on the place. If you're easy going and on a budget then keep this place a wonderful secret for the people you love. We loved staying there. Thank you La Parcela.
