It's a very promising structure, but it's a ridiculous, dirty, degraded room. Breakfast can't even be called that, and the quality of the products makes people laugh. The worst thing is the continuous attempt to fool tourists, the price increase despite a reservation made, and finally the behavior of the lady at the reception, who laughs in the face of those who justly complain about the lack of the hotel. Not even a homeless person would sleep there.

It's ridiculous.

Get the bill done right away or save a screenshot of your reservation, we've increased the amount we've got when we pay, being mocked this way is frustrating... there's no beauty, service or comfort that compensates for similar attitudes!

Damn it.

We had a great stay here, from three nights extended to six. 
Perfect peaceful location within two minutes walk to bars restaurants and the beautiful beaches. Our room was big very clean and faced the park. The breakfast was very good. 
Best of all was the second floor communal area, probably for me the best view I had of wildlife in a month of Costa Rica,monkeys, squirrels, huge iguanas and an amazing visit of an anteater that upset the howlers. Avjier and his assistant were fantastic on reception. 
Without a doubt a highlight of our trip.

I stayed here 2 nights after my hugely sleepless night at Pargo Feliz where I was booked for 6 more and chose to go elsewhere. The manager was very helpful, and nice throughout my stay. Free coffee in the morning, and lunch if you want to order it. Big airy lounge area with hammocks and games and comfy couches. AC in the room, and it was only $5. more than Pargo Feliz, and everything here worked, and was well kept.
For a town not known for decent budget accomodation this places is good value.Use of shared kitchen.

Nice people, clean, and modern, ( for Montezuma)

Montezuma is the only place in Costa Rica I'd ever care to see again, and Hotel El Tajalin is as good as it gets. If you haven't ever been to Costa Rica and are planning your trip in advance, you should know that the hotels are terrible. That said, I have no complaints about El Tajalin. Comparatively, it was great. The room was spacious enough, the shower produced hot water with good pressure, and the air conditioning worked. We stayed on the first floor, and there were a few ants in our room--but that was true of every other place we stayed (if the room was on the first floor), and I (someone with a debilitating fear of bugs) was not bothered. You can hear the music from the town at night, but it dies down by 11pm. This hotel is a bit tricky to find, but once you do the location is nice and convenient. The owner is nice and the hospitality is good. There is a very comfortable open-air lounge area on the top floor where you can get coffee in the morning, watch TV, play cards, lift some weights (only gym I saw throughout our trip), or hang out in a hammock. The morning coffee was good.

This was a last minute booking by phone, which is actually not really allowed!

The hotel is in a great location, away form noise but easy to walk to everything. It has a number of interesting rooms-they all seem a bit different. 

We ended up in #4 which was right across from reception-I don't recommend this room if you can avoid it. Our friend was upstairs in room 9. It was huge with a palatial bathroom!!

Our room was fine-3 single beds with an adequate bathroom but a bit noisy although it died down nicely around 10pm. 

Rooms were clean and comfortable with air conditioning and the front counter people were helpful and friendly.

There Is a shared kitchen upstairs but we chose to eat out. 

We had a 2 night stay and were quite satisfied with everything.

Nice place

We spent three nights here in January 2018.We had a double room with air conditioning.The staff were dedicated and warm.The room was clean but not very large.However, the hotel has a superb terrace on the third floor and you can eat and relax there.

Nice hotel in the heart of Montezuma.

Fabulous location and staff.  Walking distance to downtown core.  Great room.  Spacious and clean.  Big bathroom and world's largest shower I have ever seen!   Super cool top floor lounge area for guests with 2 hammocks, couch, tables and kitchen.  Small library.  With their permission, I borrowed a paperback I started during stay.  I will mail it back to you...I promise!  Lots of wildlife seen from hotel balcony, iguana, capuchin monkey, coati and plenty of geckos.  Very happy with 3 days at hotel.

Super Relaxing 3 Day Stay at Hotel

A nice spot in the great town of Montezuma. This hotel is in the perfect location... close to town, yet offset to where you’re not up all with the town of the music. The rooms are the best in town.. I’ve stayed in 3 in Montezuma and none are as luxurious. But with all of that being said, the best part is the common area. It’s a huge public area for all of the guest with a kitchen, couches, hammocks, a tv, and dining tables. This makes hanging out with family and friends easy. Great experience!

Beautiful

Located right in Montezuma center. I consider has excellent service, comfortable and is clean. Convenient prizes as well. It is a ubiquitous place in El Centro de Montezuma, with excellent care and cleanliness. Prices are also very good. I recommend it.
