Very nice hostel for a very reasonable price. I would recommend this hostel for other travelers

The hostel was nice and clean. The only things to note were that the curtains didn't close all the way and it sounded like our window was open and not able to be closed and we could hear other people outside and they could probably hear us too. Also, it says they accept cards online but when i got to the property they said they only take cash. They ended up not having my pay upfront and just charging hotels.com which worked out okay.

We loved our stay here. The location is fantastic and the service we received was brilliant. The staff were incredibly helpful and we booked tours for both Arenal and Monteverde with them. The highlight was the hammocks outside our room which were really relaxing at the end of the night. While the room was basic it was spacious, clean and came with air  conditioning which was a blessing in the August heat. Highly recommend. 

I stayed here with the intention of staying for 2 nights but stayed for another night because I loved it so much. The 7 bed dorm had an air conditioner so made sleeping a much better experience than without. The beds and pillows were super comfortable and I appreciate he added touch of coming in to see my bed nicely done with my towel folded into a nice arrangement with a flower on top like as if I was in Bali or Thailand. The amenities were very clean and well maintained. 

The staff were all super helpful with booking taxis, tours and were very knowledgeable about what’s good and what’s not around town. 

Another plus is that you are entitled to 1 kg of laundry done for free every night you are staying there so I was eternally grateful of that given how many hikes we did in the rain, you can imagine the amount of dirt our clothes would accumulate. 

This is he epitome of Pura Vida - thank you so much team for making my stay a fantastic experience! Highly recommended.

This is a great hostel - clean and spacious dorms with low lighting so no one is disturbed. A great bar area and shared kitchen with hammocks through the middle. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. I would definitely recommend!

My friends and I stayed at their sister backpackers hostel one night and then at the main hotel the next. The main is much prettier and fun.This is the perfect place if you want to party and make new friends. Christian the manager (owner?) was very helpful in facilitating a good time. Very knowledgeable about the area.They have a bar with a small heated pool with waterfall attached to it. The landscaping is great. Tons of hammocks and lights. The dorm rooms are bare. They only come with sheets. Its warm outside but if your roommates want the ac on it can get cold. Check out the hot springs river at night. Its free and people put candles on the riverbank to light it. Very pretty. Women beware of the local Ticos!!! They are very aggressive and persistent.

I can't believe this is called a hostel. I guess it's the open air shared kitchen? This place was beautiful, a hidden oasis right in the middle of downtown La Fortuna. Go for the private room (all have private baths) it's really nice. The little pool and shaded hammocked garden is wonderful after a day of hiking, etc.

Beautiful Hostel

First of all, the positive feedback: the location is very nice, hot and cool waterpool, hammocs in the garden and nice deluxe rooms with a beautiful sight to the vulcano. The standard rooms are okay. Price was quite fair. 
Nevertheless, we had some service problems with the reception here which has real organizational problems. As I wrote above, we had two rooms (deluxe and standard) as we spontaneosly decided to stay more time in la Fortuna and there was only the deluxe room left for the mentioned additional night. They told us it would be no problem to change rooms at checkout time, 11 a.m. or leave the baggage in the baggage room. So we went to the hot springs thinking that we would have the room for a shower. But no: When returned at 1:45 p.m. we received the room dirty. Even the toilet was unusable. So I asked for cleaning at the reception who unfriendly commented to me that we got the room before checkin time (2 p.m.) and that now the girl would be having lunch. (It already was 2 p.m. at that moment or at least 5 minutes left!) Well, we waited until 3 p.m. so that we got a clean room. At 6 p.m. we asked for the towels which are a big problem in that hotel. When we got them changed (or simply got them) we had to wait at least until 4 or 5 p.m.. 
Another problem where the constructions next to the hostel. They even continued in the late evening and early night. Hopefully they end soon.

All in all if you don't have any special wishes (and may bring your own towel?) I can recommend the hostel as it is a nice place.
