Rancho Verde de Osa

I stayed with Enrique and Alice and their wonderful family for an entire week and it felt like being with my own family. They have a sustainable farm and they use food from there as much as possible. The cabin is simple and clean, the food Alice cooks is tasty and you never go without really tasty coffee. Rancho Verde is located in the village called Rancho Quemado, a small village of about 200 people, so if you're into nightlife this isn't for you. But if you want to play ball or freezbie or any other games in the field you will always have people who will welcome you and even teach you if you want to learn. There is a beautiful trail you can hike - bring a flashlight so you can find your way back if you decide to stay for the sunset, which is recommended. There are many other things you can experience and Enrique and Alice will help you organize the tours. There is a cacao tour, a sugar cane one, a gold mining one. They are all artisanal and there is no touristy stuff here, no up selling... You will feel like someone simply witnessing the crafts of these people. Really worth every minute of your time and every penny. Truly amazing experience.
