The 6 of us arrived without booking and were really well taken care of. The rooms are simple (I wish the amenities were a little better) but clean and comfortable and the location of the hotel perfect. Close enough to the plaza but not too much so it is quiet at night. 
The highlight is the breakfast terrace overlooking the town and the food although limited is good and local. Adding fruit juices would be a good idea.

Hotel Shambala is the best place to stay with family.Excellent rooms, very comfortable beds.The view from the terrace is spectacular.The breakfast is delicious.It is very close to the park and the main street.

I went with my family to spend New Year's parties in Salento and we found this hotel.Comfortable and cozy, we were given a small but delicious end-of-year detail, we had a very rich time and the 24-hour reception gives us the peace of mind that we don't have to worry about arrival time like we did elsewhere,

My husband and I travel every year to Salento and stay at this hotel.We love it! The staff is very attentive, the delicious breakfast (fruit, eggs, arepa, cheese, buns and coffee) and the biosecurity measures they have taken sound very good.

It is excellent.

I refer specifically to room 108, which is left in the basement, you can never rest there, upstairs is a bakery and everything is heard downstairs, dragging things, running chairs, machines etc, it's 10:30 pm and still the noise is impressive, at 6:30 am everything starts again, no I recommend it, plus because I complained about the noise and I was promised to move to another room and I'm still waiting for that to happen.

Indeed, this is not a luxurious hotel BUT the high quality of its service, really makes a difference. The hotel does not offer many amenities you have to be aware of this fact, however, it is always clean, in good conditions and the best of it is the service. The staff is always ready and eager to help guests. Specially, the reception lady, Yurany, She is always taking care of guests. A bad point of this hotel is that the walls are very, very thin, so you can know what is happening in the romm next to yours. Unfortunately, if there are noisy neighbours... well; not much sleep. The other negative point is that the hotel subcontracts a bakery in order to offer breakfast and the service of those people is just terrible. The word service for them does not exist. So, the reputation of the hotel could get affected by this bakery. However, I would return to this place because the service is excellent and the premises are always clean and comfortable.

Finest service

We stayed in the hotel for one night with the aim of sleeping over and having a nice shower. The positive points were friendly girls at the reception, nice breakfast and the location with the price.
However, negative points prevailed. The hotel claims there is a WiFi, yet the signal is so bad that the only place we could access it was in front of the front desk at the first floor (having a room on the 2nd). 
Besides, there was no hot water and when we notified the maintenance guy about that, he just refused helping saying “it should be hot”. 
And to top it up, the sound from outside didn’t let us sleep at all - from 2am until 6 there was a rooster screaming right at the window, while from 5 am the local church started ringing so loudly that thin walls of the room couldn’t help.

Not impressed

How is it possible that this hotel, which is number 1 in Salento with 8 excellent reviews versus others with more than 200 excellent reviews, appears at the end of the list????? of number two and three.???? Lords of Trip Advisor who happens in this case.

I arrived at this hotel by chance and was very pleasantly surprised. I spent three nights there in the greatest tranquility while being in the center of Salento. The rooms are clean and new, the housekeeping is done every day (clothes and towels changed), the shower is very pleasant. Only bemool, breakfast to improve. The best place to stay in Colombia in this price range.

It's a very nice surprise.

I stayed with my husband and it was really nice to stay, the facilities are beautiful, very easy to reach, very clean everything, the attention provided was the best, very attentive everyone, it was really a very good experience.
