I like the very quiet accommodation, every day they clean the rooms. It is clean, the staff is friendly and some ladies advise us where to go to rent a motorbike, places on the island, etc. In general, good attention. I never saw the place that appeared in the photos of the hostel, I don't know where that reception was. The hostel is located within Cabañas de agua dulce and you can use facilities such as the pool and restaurant. It is close to supermarkets (in the center are a little cheaper than these), restaurants (a little expensive), and very beautiful beaches that are easy to get from the hostel.

 Cost is proportional to services.

The hostel is part of a hotel, and the staff that serves you is part of the hotel, however you won't find hostel vibe. However, there are common areas where you can find friends. The bathroom is inside the cabin and you can hear everything, this is a bit uncomfortable. The price is fairly fair in relation to the prices of the island. The food is ridiculously expensive, but apparently it is something normal, at least in that sector of Freshwater that is the most touristy and hotel zone.

A fair price for what you are offered.

We spent three nights in a six-bed room at the Blue Almond Hostel. Our conclusion: We would no longer stay here. The colored huts look quite inviting from the outside. The beds are fine and the room has enough space. But that's the only positive thing. The hygiene standard is minimal. The staff is far from helpful, the company doesn't think it's necessary to inform guests about procedures and hardly takes care of any concerns. So we had to spend almost a day without toilet paper, for example, since there was no staff available. After repeated demand, we were advised to drop off the breakfast service.

Poor service, unfriendly staff, disorganized

Nice and clean dorm with very comfortable beds, two bathrooms, lockers and a fridge. Outside is a hammock that makes your stay even more comfortable:)

Just across the street is a bar and terrace, where you can watch sunset while drinking delicious pinacolada.

Very good location,  5 min from the beach and a supermarket.

I stayed in the dorm, and the building is very nice and clean. Perfect location on the island and terrace with amazing view. Staff nice but not many services for the dorm. No kitchen and breakfast not included. I had to pay 4000pesos just for a small cup of hot water. Apart the big problem of no having even hot water for my own breakfast, all the rest was perfect.

Hostel in a hotel

This hostel is attached to a hotel. It's just one room with 3 single beds and a double on a mezzanine bit.

There was no communal area so you cannot just hang out, not great if it's the rainy season. There are also no basic cooking facilities, which is a bit silly as the people that stay in a hostel tend to be on a budget and may want to make their own food, especially as eating out on the island is so expensive. We couldn't even boil water for tea/coffee and when I asked if I could use their boiled water at breakfast they tried to charge an extortionate amount. 

We felt that they didn't look after the hostel clients as the hotel clients are more important. 

There are plenty of other slightly more expensive posadas on the island but more friendly with good kitchens so would would save your money that way. As soon as we moved we felt a lot happier. 

We wouldn't recommend blue almond, but if you do need to stay there it is clean and there are 2 bathrooms for 5 people which are the good points.

Mr Macs looked better when we went to see it and was on the sea front.

Had to move.

The hostel is part of a complex of cottages in which the price is quite high. Nothing more to arrive, they let you know that you can't use anything from the complex, only the restaurant and repeat several times that you have to pay in the moment (quietly, we are backpackers but we don't usually have to pay for the sites). The reception is very negative, instead of welcoming you with a smile, they receive you with a list of about 6 or 7 things that are prohibited for the users of the hostel. In general, the atmosphere is quite negative, the owner only offers the employee screaming and talking in a rather despicable way. They are also disorganized, first they tell us that the hostel's users can't pay with tar (shopping on the web that puts you in for 8,000 pesos), then at the moment of our card, we're confident that the owner pays a small fee, but we're not allowed to pay for anything from the other side of the island.

Negativity in a paradise

The place is a large, very comfortable cottage, with 4 bedrooms down and a double bed upstairs. It has two bathrooms, a freezer, air conditioning and ventilators. I recommend reading the things they offer and the ones they don't on their website. The location is good, not in the center, but in front there is a nice viewpoint and a few blocks away is the beach. It is highly recommended to rent a motorcycle, a few meters away and get 50,000 a day.

Very pleasant.

I had reserved a dorm but when I arrived it was full so the gave me a cabin. The location is very convenient. It only takes one minute to walk to a nice supermarket. After staying in various places on Providencia I ended up liking the location of Almond Blue the most. Being right on the ocean is great. There are plenty of open spaces to relax in a hammock or chair and admire the beautiful blue water. Walking to south east bay only takes about 15 minutes and the walk boasts some nice vistas of the sea from higher vantage points. The restaurant was one of the best on the island and they always had a cold beer when I wanted. The staff were very positive and kind. I’ll stay here on my next trip.

Well I would start that it's not a hostel. It's one of the huts from Cabanas Aguas Dulces where there are 5 beds. Which is good and bad. It's a pretty nice spot and the hut is nice with a nice patio but... There is no kitchen (which is normal) but also no glasses, spoons, nothing... There is no person working for the hostel. When you need sth you have to go to the reception of the whole resort and they kind of treat you like a poor, worse tourist which is not that nice. The isolation of the hut is not really good so AC is not really helping that much and 2 fans that are there are great but one has a tendency of disappearing. And you have one key and the door closes behind you. It should be possible to agree among 6 people to always bring it to the reception but it unfortunately Doesnt work and then the poor tourist needs to ask for emergency key...
