The hotel was clean, my housekeeper Anya did an excellent job on a daily in my room. All the staff were friendly but Sara at front desk was exceptional. She was always ready to help, always with a smile, very friendly and attentive to our needs. I would stay here again.

My stay at Mood Matuna was absolutely lovely. The room was beautiful, spacious, and extremely inviting—it was spotless and felt like a true escape. The staff was incredibly attentive and hospitable, creating a very safe and welcoming environment from start to finish. I felt completely relaxed and at ease throughout my stay.The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the city, close to everything you might need. There are supermarkets, local shops, bakeries, and even a shopping mall just minutes away. It’s not too far from the famous Clock Tower and the Walled City, making it an ideal base for exploring Cartagena’s charm. Tour guides and excursions are readily available in the area at reasonable rates, and there are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance.This is a beautiful hotel with exceptional customer service and an amazing team. I would absolutely love to return. Highly recommended!

I loved the location and staff. All of the staff at the front desk/bar and restaurant were helpful and kind.

The property is in the heart of the walled city. It’s perfectly positioned to find plenty of food, music, art, and vendors. During the day it’s very loud but at night it quiets down. The hotel staff were very accommodating. They ordered taxis for us even when we weren’t at the hotel. The VIP wine wasn’t great but it was a nice special touch. The room was very spacious but the bathrooms are super small. I had a great experience and I felt very safe. Also, keep in mind that there is a shared balcony so  if that bothers you, maybe bring a door stopper. The beach was like 2 miles away. $5 USD taxi ride. And EVERYBODY is trying to sell you something. The room service in the hotel was nice and timely. I’ll definitely be returning

Great location if you want to walking distance to Getsemani

The hotel was awesome! Like a hideaway in the middle of the city. Perfect location.

A really great breakfast, made to order. Very spacious family room. One block from the walled city.However, the worst bathroom lighting in the history of hotels. I had to bring a flashlight into the shower to read the various soap/shampoo dispensers.

Everything was great. Clean rooms. The hotel is centrally located. That was a major plus.

Overall, a very positive stay at this property. A friendly and helpful team of staff with a good quality restaurant onsite that served throughout the day. The room had strong and effective air con unit, and was very spacious. A large comfortable bed with nice bathroom / shower facilities.I selected this hotel partially due its onsite gym, which while it was small, had a good range of equipment and was clean. The highlight was the moment the hotel team got me a bottle of white wine because I don’t drink red wine as part of welcome gift. And the reason this review wasn’t 5 stars is due to a few (simple to fix) missing elements in the room. The facilities would be improved by some hangers in the wardrobe area, an iron in the room, and hand towels   hooks in the basin space for when you wash your hands, etc…

I really enjoyed my stay at Mood Matuna. The room was clean and very spacious. The water was hot and plentiful for all of my showers. The cozy restaurant and bar are nice touches. In my particular room, the shower water did drain a little slow but nothing overwhelming.  The staff was really great and helpful. Its a small boutique-like hotel with about 36 rooms, which I like. Right outside of the hotel is a short walk to food, entertainment, shopping and much more. If you are planning excursions, I was picked up directly from the hotel for one and the other was just a 2 minute walk to the pick up location, but check for your particular excursion choices. Book this hotel!

My stay at Mood Matuna was great, the staff was super friendly and accommodating. The room was big and had everything I needed for my stay. It is located between Getsemaní and the historical center so it is great if you are walking around the city. The beach can be reached by walking but it is a bit far from the hotel. The area around the hotel is not so he greatest but it is very convinient

We stayed in the private pool suite and it was lovely to enjoy the space on a hot day. Breakfast was included which was a pleasant surprise and they brought it to our room after we ordered on WhatsApp. Excellent service from the staff. Hotel was well maintained. The area directly surround the hotel was busy but location was walking distance to everything

We stayed for 4 nights. Staff were excellent, the girls at reception are always smiling. Location was very good between the old city and Getsemani but the immediate vicinity was a bit chaotic during the day. The bakery 2 doors away sells delicious donuts! The room and bed were very spacious. Bed was comfortable enough. The air con works very well. The bathroom is very small and no hooks to hang towels or clothes. Seeing that this hotel is "new", thought they could have installed some USB charging port for guest's convenience. The other con is we were not sure if we can open the blackout curtain for natural light since the opposite building is so close and can over look inside. Other than that, it was a great little hotel.

Wonderful hotel to stay in Cartagena

Check-in was super easy and quick. The staff are friendly and attentive !We booked the room with a private pool which was very spacious and the small pool allowed us to chill and cool off on the balcony. The breakfast is delicious as well as the room service we ordered.Overall a great location - easy to walk into the old city, to the docks for boat trips and to near by shopping areas.Would stay here again if visiting Cartagena.

Great location, food and staff

It was a pleasure to return to Mood Matuna for the 2nd time within a year. I was glad that construction finished and I was able to get a really big room. The check in process was a bit tedious to say the least as I couldn’t just check in at the front desk and the fact that i couldn’t have visitors without checking them in surprised me and will be taken into consideration on future visits to Cartagena. Once again, the shower leaked out of the bathroom and across the floor and I’m sure that it’s a design flaw that management knows about. The staff was wonderful -especially Cris- and I was glad to see that the fitness center is operational now.

The hotl was clean and the staff was so nice. Especially Natalia she was so sweet and accommodating, she also makes the best Palomas. The hotel was conveniently located between many tourists attractions. Which made it easy to walk the city. There were 3 things that I didn't not like about the hotel. One there is not a full length mirror in the rooms. Two the lighting in the room is very dim, which makes it difficult to see when applying makeup, doing hair, etc. Lastly, they did not have any wash cloths/face towel Only large towels and hand towels. I suggest bring your own wash cloth/face towel. Everything else was wonderful.
