I was in a *very* bad financial and emotional situation when I got to Bogotá (due to the knock-on consequences of being attached in Bolivia some months before) and this hostel was a wonderful lifeline for me. It was the cheapest listed but I was very happy that I ended up there for a few weeks while I sorted things out. It's more like shabby chic than smart but it was always clean and I was more than happy with the spacious dorms and hot showers. It's also in Candelaria, the historic centre of the extremely spread out city. Best of all, though, was Ivonne, who worked so hard over so many hours but was always absolutely warm, friendly and helpful. There was no public computer, but she let me use her reception one as much as I needed. I look back on what would otherwise have been a horrible time with very happy memories.
