Gulangyu Gallery Inn - Xiamen

The hotel was transformed from an old house, which, in my opinion, should be considered an attraction per se. Each room is paired with a famous painter, with 1 or 2 paintings from the painter it's paired to. There is QR code about the painter that you can scan to access further infos about him/her. The hotel provides simple local-style breakfast at a reasonable price;it also provides several cocktails at night, but I haven't tried their lunch. Gulangyu island is too commercialized in a way. Stores and crowds eclipse the beauty of some historic architectures. I wouldn't recommend you guys to travel here from June to August since the island would be too crowded.
