424 reviewsI stayed in a private room with a private bathroom at the Hantang House and I really enjoyed it. For the price, the location in the city center was fantastic, the room was good, and the people were nice. The hostel is right in the middle of the action within the city walls. It is a perfect base for exploring Xi'an. I found the room to be comfortable and I had no trouble sleeping. When I checked in, they offered me a room on a lower floor or a higher floor. I chose the higher floor for the view (worth it!) and thinking it would be quieter (it was!) but it was a bit of a climb since there was no elevator. The bathroom worked. Keep in mind the price; you are not getting luxury but it is safe and comfortable. I also appreciated the service offered by the hotel. Someone met me (and my heavy bag) at the train station and escorted me to the hotel. The woman who checked me in was very kind and everyone I encountered in the cafe on the ground floor was very helpful. One of the women even connected me with another solo traveler staying in the hostel to tour around together. I highly recommend the Hantang House!
