Andpark Hostel

It was a lovely hostel. Unique and run by lovely people. I took the train from Jiujiang to Wuyuan and by the time I arrived at Wuyuan Train station, it was already almost 8 pm. The distance from the train station to the hostel is about 2 km and it was plain easy for me to just walk to the hostel. Along the way to the hostel, I met another backpacker and he helped me to locate the hostel easily using his hand phone. The hostel is located beside a river and I found a beautiful sense of quaint charm and quietness when I check-in into the hostel. I had this same feeling when I was in Kyoto. It was a silent peaceful night far from the madding crowd. I was the only one in the dormitory room comfortably enjoying my tea and the deep cooling of the air conditioner after a hot summer day. The hostel manager was very courteous and smiling. I felt a warm welcome from his smiles. He looks more like a Japanese with his pony tail. The check-in process was prompt and in 5 minutes' time I was in the bathroom taking my bath. The whole hostel impressed me with its great space and from the second floor I could see the big hostel compound. It looks more like a romantic mansion than a youth hostel. It has an impressive elegant outlook. I stayed here for 2 nights meeting a physical training teacher and a backpacker from Kwantung province. The latter just arrived from Huangshan and after a chat with him, I decided to head for Huangshan the following day. The decision was correct as Huangshan is indeed a great attraction. It was wonderful meeting travelers and exchanged views in a comfortable dormitory like this. There is a TV set at the ground floor and green tea is provided free. The three of us came down and enjoyed watching some TV shows before retiring to bed. I like this hostel, it was warm, clean and comfortable and both the staff and my hostel mates were very helpful and courteous. There are plenty of restaurants and eateries within walking distance from the hostel. The North Coach Station can be reached by public buses no. 1 and 2. I paid RMB 42 for a day's stay here. This hostel left a much more deeper impression in me than the impression I had for attractions at Wuyuan.
