Hanting Express Weifang Railway Station

We’ve stayed in a few Hanting’s and this branch is up to the usual Hanting standard of comfort and service. Everything works including the individual a/c. Wi-fi is free and the speed is OK. Don’t expect English to be spoken. When we arrived at the railway station from GuangZhou at 3 o’clock in the morning, we got a tuc-tuc to the hotel (10 Yuan) as the taxis weren’t interested as this Hanting is only a few minutes walk from the railway station. In the reception area there’s a couple of computers to use and a few ‘essentials’ for sale. We stayed in this hotel for 12 nights. We paid 150 Yuan a night for a double room with our Hanting discount card. Breakfast is available in the dining room on the third floor for another 20 Yuan and is the usual noodles, rice porridge, baozi etc. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and ‘essentials’ shops between the hotel and railway station. It’s not a quiet hotel with plenty of traffic noise and low flying jets from the local military base. Actually, I don’t imagine there any quiet hotels are WeiFang, it must be the nosiest city we’ve visited. From the city centre, the hotel is a thirty minute walk. There are plenty of taxis (10 Yuan) and a bus stop across the road (2 Yuan) also to the city centre. Don’t forget to leave the room cleaning girl a nice letter saying how good her cleaning is. She gets a 20 Yuan New Year bonus for every letter. Just behind the hotel is a small Chinese musical instrument shop, which is well worth a visit. Look out for the guy selling jugs of draft Tsingtao beer for 18 Yuan, excellent value!
