Initially we were pleased with the hotel and the room was very spacious with comfortable beds. There were great power points which fitted Australian plugs. The staff were friendly and did speak reasonable English. Then there were some minor problems 1. there wasn't any instructions in English the room 2. the shower while nice and hot leaked badly 3. the breakfast was vegetables, broth and a few pieces of fruit. the major problem were that there were some very officious police in the area which made the stay very uncomfortable. we would never advise any couples or singles to stay in this area for that reason. Stay somewhere else or go with a group !!!!!

Nice hotel but terrible area to stay around

Good hotel at central location. Quite comfortable room. Staff do not speak English but eager to help. Special mention must be made for a girl working at the reception, her name was Yuan Mei Zheng, who tried her best to help us with every issue, even if she spoke only a few English words - and she succeeded. If only all employees were like her!

Good hotel, friendly & helpful staff

Very comfortable and well equipped room. Warm and cosy too. 
In fact we were very glad to spend most of our stay in Urumqi in the hotel.
As mentioned in a previous review some of the items in the room weren't complementary.
Strangely the en-suite was divided from the room by a glass wall with a rather flimsy curtain hiding the toilet!
We were able to check in early and check out late (at no extra cost) which was great for us.

Comfortable

The LIJING hotel belongs to the YiJia hotel chain. The YiJia group has several hotels in URUMQI alone; so make sure one gets to the correct Yijia hotels in URUMQI !!! The LIJING hotel is rated as a three (3) star standard, but it is much better than even some of the four (4) stars rated hotels in URUMQI !!! The rooms are clean and well provided for. The deco is tasteful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is great, right in the heart of city with all the shops, malls, eateries around. Moving around is easy: with many public transport zero in the area (zhong shan road), and many taxis......Many of the shops, malls, eateries are within walking distance. The room price is very economical. Great value for money !!!

YIJIA LIJING HOTEL, URUMQI, XINJIANG

We travelled through Urumuqi and needed a place for one night.
The hotel is in great condition and relatively clean. 
There are many shops and small restaurants nearby, however it is not in city center.
Beds were very comfortable and not hard at all. The room
Was spacious and beautifully decorated.
Just make sure before which items in the room are complementary and which are not (we were asked to pay for the coffee sachets..)

Recommendable

The wifi doesn't work, out of reach in the room you have to camp in the hallway. Besides the wifi requires a password for a limited-time connection. I had to go down 5 times to the reception to get a valid password. The shower flow was blocked, the sdeb looks like a pool. When we left the room, we asked to keep our luggage for a few hours.
