Yangshan Hotspring Hotel and Resort - Suzhou

As the weather turns a bit chillier (finally!) we decided to escape from Suzhou and enjoy the hot springs. It was super easy to get to from Suzhou SIP. We took the line 1 metro to tayuan lu and grabbed a cab which cost 40 rmb to the hotel. We booked the hotel online through expedia before so it was easy check-in, but you will need to be able to speak mandarin. (Note - the hotel is behind the restaurant which is directly on the street. Walk through the restaurant and take the elevators on the left to floor 2. Then walk across the bridge and up the stairway to the hotel. OR walk on the driveway behind the restaurant to the stairs up to the hotel.) The hotel for the night was a great deal - it covered our entrance to the hot springs right next door, entrance to the yangshan national forest park, breakfast the next day and free admission to some sort of golf course. There is also free wifi. The hotel is typical Chinese - the rooms are comfortable, but not elaborate. They do the job :) Breakfast is very Chinese. On the street next to the hotel there is a restaurant which is pretty good and cheaper than the hotel restaurant. We spent the first day there at the hot springs which was lovely and the next day we walked about 45 minutes to the national forest park and hiked through the mountain. Conveniently, at the bottom of the mountain you can grab bus 322 which can take you to a 3 metro stops. it's a bit of a long ride, but it will be almost impossible to get a taxi that far out. Overall a fun little weekend retreat that was affordable, relaxing and incredibly easy to access. Highly recommend it!
