There are very few places that please me, but this place was a very nice 3 night stay. Clean, well appointed rooms and clean bathroom. I am certain. This place has the feel of a small inn because it is relatively small, but skips all that up close and personal chit chat with Innkeepers. This is where we will stay the next time!

Nice spot

I booked a family room with one large and one small bed to share with 2 friends on the hotel's website for 4 nights.  The website is a unreliable because it never sent me an email confirmation.  Fortunately, I printed out the confirmation before I closed the web browser.  Even called the hotel to confirm the reservation.  Please beware your expected arrival time.  Try to pick a later time or you may encounter the same problem we had.  At time of booking, I selected the 12-3pm expected arrival time.  However, we arrived at the hotel at 3:04pm and the receptionist told us our booking was cancelled automatically because we arrived after 3pm.  Our room is no longer available!!!  It was a total joke and so obvious the receptionist lied about the room we booked months in advance suddenly became unavailable just because we were 4 minutes late.  They were going to put us in there sister hotel for the first night but we refused to accept their ridiculous explanation.  After about 30 minutes of complaining at the front desk, our room suddenly became available again!!  What a miracle!  Other than this unpleasant drama, we did enjoy our stay.  We really appreciated the unique decoration of this hotel.  Yes, the bed was a bit too hard and the cleanliness department has a lot of room for improvement!  Our room was on the 3rd (top) floor and it's pretty quiet in the evening.  No sound proof though.  We especially love where the hotel is located!  Lots of restaurants and street snacks available.  For Yuan$229 per night, it's overall good value for the money.

Good location unique decoration!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It is in a good location and the beds were hard but we like it that way. No English was spoken and we had a lot of mosquito problems at night. The shower was moldy which also lowers the score a bit. It was okay, but could have been better.

Good location

First of all, saturday night is a bad time to book a hotel room in Qingdao. Every hotel is full and prices are higher than the rest of the week. We booked a room on agoda.com last minute and arrived around 18:00. They didn't have a standard room anymore, there was only one family room left. We looked at the room, which didn't look too bad, but they wanted 469 RMB for it (we booked the room for 369). We did not agree, and then, while we were at the reception, somebody walked in who agreed pay the full price for the room, so they agreed to give the room to him. We couldn't believe that just happened.

They called with agoda and we spoke to them, but the situation could not be resolved. We just had to get another hotel, which agoda would arrange for us. About 60 minutes and two phonecalls later they finally managed to get a similar room in a hotel nearby. We still couldn't believe that the management of this hotel would rather make an extra 100 RMB than upgrade a customer with a valid reservation to another room.

On the positive side, the man who agreed to take the room never returned and when we left around 20:00, the management tried to get us to stay for the original price of our reservation. What a bunch of idiots.

P.S. Great location. If you do end up staying here, get a room away from the courtyard as it seems extremely loud.

Money hungry sharks

It was a really bad experience.
First of all, nobody speaks english at the reception. Even "Yes", "No", "Please"... nothing.
We booked the room with a very famous website and when we came there they told us (in chinese, of course): "We don't know this website" and they made us pay 2 times more, without even taking our situation into account.
The rooms are not very cleaned (we had hairs on the toilet!) and for what it offers it's really expensive.
The location is ok, but my advice is: don't go there, there are surely better solutions in Qingdao.
