Yuehua Hotel

We stayed in this hotel 3 nights, and I was happy with it. We paid 158 for a standard twin room, booked on Ctrip and when we first walked it, we saw this great skylight view from the 7th floor. In daylight the view is nothing much. The bedside table is interesting, as it looks like a 60s stereo but you can switch on TV from there. There was chairs which is often overlooked in a room. The bathroom looks unclean but we assumed it was. It was outdated, not ultramodern but we had stayed in worst. Towels were clean. Air-con a bit noisy but we slept through it (we heard noisier). Beds were clean and the room adequately big. Best thing about the hotel is the location: it's just opposite the Confucius temple. It looks great especially at night. There also you can see the night scene on one the borders of the Qinhuai river. Really quite animated that area at night. We were also 10 min from the nearest metro and banks, shops and convenient restaurants are nearby. We were also near bus stops, and the 游2 line which takes you to some further attractions like Sun Yatsen Mauseleum which was 80yuan 2 years ago, now free. Worst thing about the hotel is that reception never had a hairdryer (always rented out). And the room is not dry enough for the clothes to dry (we wash clothes at night since we were travelling for a long time, most hotels would dry our clothes overnight). Not a problem if you are planning to do such a thing. It poured and flooded up to our calves when we went. Huge Umberellas can be rented from reception.
