Jins Inn Confucius Temple

Jin's Inn Confucius Temple is pretty basic, but the price is great and so is the location. It is near a great food street (the Fuzi Market) and next to Aqua city. The metro is a few hundred metres away.

We stayed at Jin's Inn Confucius Temple. It is conveniently located in Confucius Temple area. It is about 10 minutes walk to the metro, and we can also easily walk to the bus stop where the Y2 bus takes you to other attractions. One of the newest mall in Nanjing, Aqua City is just next to the hotel, and has a variety of familiar Western restaurant chains for when you need a break from local food.
The hotel has a new washer which we can use for free (bring own detergent), although you have to figure out where to hang the laundry in your room . They also have wired Internet access.
The room was already ready for us when we got there before 11 am. We stayed in a twin room which was very spacious and light, although the bathroom in our room needs to be renovated.
The housekeeping staff were very nice and helpful; showing us how to operate the washer, and offering to put two beds togeher for us. The check in desk staff does not seem very knowledgeable about the bus going to the attractions.
There are a few points of considerations:
The staff do not speak English
The rather annoying thing we experienced was when there are tour groups staying in the hotel, for they tend to talk loudly in the hallway regardless of time of day/night.
The hotel takes a 100 yuan deposit for each night of stay.

Good base for exploring Nanjing

Good location

To start there is no staff there that's speaks english, not even a little bit which made everything more difficult.
I reserved a double bed and we got 2 singles.
The corridors are smelly and the look of the inside of the hotel not the best. The room is a bit old, not that well looked after and not that clean but the bed and sheets seemed clean which made me happy, at least that. The bathroom looks quite bad in overall.
The air con was a bit noisy and the sink in the bathroom dripping.
The location is good, there are plenty of stores and options to eat around and subway close by, also a interesting market and the Confucius temple very near. (Airport and train station very far, but they are not in the city centre anyway)Its very cheap and who is looking for a budget option and is no fussy at all maybe I would recommend it, but to be honest I regretted immensely not paying a bit more to stay in a better place.

a regret in my trip to China

It is a bad hotel. poor lighting, poor staff attitude, dirty and look like a third class cheap love hotel. Location is good, and that's about all.
The worse is, I paid HK $238 per night, booking through agoda, for this poor quality hotel, I know it is cheap but when I find out they are only charging local guests 148 RMB (HK$ 185), for the same room and service per night, I am getting really upset, I shall never booked with agoda again.
