The hotel rates itself as a 4-star; more like 2.5, at most 3. The rooms are a bit shabby, the beds extremely firm. Old towels, non-working (and portable) safe deposit boxes. The only person who could speak passable English was the bellboy. However, the staff went out of their way to help. When we wanted to change train tickets, they even volunteered to go to the station on their own time and do this for us. Another lady helped at every meal trying to translate for us. Very close to Longmen Grottos and to Luoyang Longmen Railway Station (fast G-trains)! If you are in town mostly to visit the caves, the location is very convenient. 10 min by taxi to the Caves, probably even the bus (53) would work, although we haven't tried. Luoyang museum (recommended) is also close by taxi.
