I stayed here in December 2015 for two nights with a friend.  The hotel is remodeling the main building which holds the administration, main reception area and dining room.  Because of this, there is no food available on the premises except for breakfast.  This means that if you plan to stay overnight, you have to go to a row of restaurants located about half a kilometer away to get any food.  None of the staff could tell me when the remodeling would be completed.

The room we were given was of a decent size.  However, the furniture and bathrooms are aging and there were obvious signs of mold on the ceiling and in the bathrooms.  Having stayed in China for more than 12 years, I am quite accustomed to poor room and bathroom conditions.  However, the price being charged per night was about 350 yuan (about $54), and for that price, I could have gotten a much nicer room and environment in Thailand!

I think the worst experience I had during my stay was that I happened to slip and fall on some loose rocks about 3 meters away from two hotel check-in staff.  They did not even bother to look up from their desks.  I finally stared at them until one of them looked up and said, "No problem, right?"  

Two thumbs way down!

Remodeling the outside, but service stinks

Beautiful hotel conviently located next to the Dianchi garden, Dragon's gate and Nationalities park. The rooms were a bit dated but quite spacious and nice.
We actually hosted an event here with 100 guests and the gentleman that coordinated the event and his catering staff were fantastic. That said i'm sad to say the hotel staff wasn't quite as accommodating and friendly. Uponarrival with one of our handicapped guests at the hotel the bell man quickly disappeared inside only to return upon repeaked requests. Yes, they're undoubtedly were some communication issues due to language barriers. Only my wife speaks Chinese. But, the staff was less then friendly. They didn't mention that breakfast was included, never greeted us when entering or leaving the hotel, not one employee offered to help with our handicapped guests wheel chair when arriving or departing by taxi more than 6 times in a 2 day period and lastly upon departure we were rudly asked why we had taken a pair of inexpensive scissors from our room. Although the place is located on attractive grounds it is really most reminiscent of a crappy Disney,  Orlando. Convention hotel. Let's not forget the rooms were bug infested!

Picturesque hotel but sadly lacking.

The hotel is very crowded like a fish market as some its spa services are open to the public. It is rated "B" for cleanliness and indeed the room is so-so, bedsheet, pillow cases and toilet bowl are stained (yaks!). Receptionists are so grouchy, no smiles from check-in to check-out.  The hotel is like a chalet in Singapore and noisy at night when you try to relax. We didn't use the communal spring spa when we saw some people scrubbing their feet openly (yaks!), fortunately, we have an in-room spa tub, and arranged for a masseur for private massage in the room. I thought the Tibetan massage was interesting as the masseur has to dance with her massage strokes.  Breakfast is horrible, the best is bread and butter. Btw, being your own coffee bag, they only serve diluted tea.
