The above rating I gave is only for their superior rooms, not standard. I stayed in Kunming for 2 nights before transit to Lijiang. I decided to book this hotel as this is an Accor hotel, and the photo of the room looks decent and rate are low. However, the first night I stayed in their standard room, that was a horrible room, no air cond in the sub zero temperature at night, only warm water, low water pressure, towels are old and worn out, toilet roll just sufficient, the walls are wooden that noise and cigarette smells coming in from the other rooms. I am a frequent traveler, but as a conclusion, I have never stayed in such a bad hotel before. The next morning, I understand from my friend that it’s only the air cond not functioning in my room. With an additional RMB40, I changed to a non-smoking deluxe or superior room upstairs, the rooms are like 2 different hotels, room décor and facilities are a lot better, and room is bigger and warm until 5am (when they switch the air cond. off for the whole hotel), blanket is different and warm, shower are good and towels are rather new, completely up to the Accor standard. In view of the low cost, I would still recommend you this hotel, but make sure to stay in the superior.
