8 reviewsI stayed here for 6 weeks from early December on business. Room was large and convenient for work (large desk, couch, enough electric sockets). Carpet and walls were not very clean but towels, bed sheets, and bathroom were clean. Bed was large and very comfortable. They have an excellent traditional Chinese buffet breakfast between 7:00-9:00 everyday which I still miss. All hotel staff were so nice and they did their best to resolve any issue immediately. XueYuan had the fastest maintenance service I have ever seen, the maintenance person was always at my door as soon as I put the phone down. Front desk ladies kindly helped me with an issue I was having with CTrip. My husband joined me during my last 2 weeks here and we didn't have to pay anything extra even for the breakfast. There is a small Lianhua supermarket right downstairs which is very convenient. XueYuan is right next to East China University of Political Science and Law. It is also within walking distance (15 minute) to Shanghai University of Engineering Science (where I worked). There are 3 bus lines go by the bus stop near this hotel: 15, 24, and 99. 15 and 24 go to Songjiang University Town metro station via Guangfulin road. 99 goes to Songjiang Xincheng station. Both stations are on line 9 that goes into Shanghai downtown. Walk on Guangfulin road is very scenic, you can access Guangfulin Relics Site in 5 minutes by walk from hotel. Walk on Sanxin road is also nice and you can find eateries and markets in the East China university dorm area behind the hotel. All in all, this hotel is perfect if you work at/visit nearby universities.
