Dongyang Narada Grand Hotel

Was in Dongyang for a business trip and this was the hotel I stayed for 3 nights.
A good choice as the hotel was huge and offered good rooms.
Choice of F&B in hotel but you can also get plenty of food options outside with a 15mins walk. Next to Dongyang wood craving n furniture center. 
Will stay here again next time

I joined the trade expo at Yiwu and we stayed in this hotel. It's a very nice hotel for a five star but I have a few complaints. The internet was not very fast to me and also when i was there the pool was under construction. The breakfast spread was good but the the buffet dinner was overpriced for a muslim (I can't eat anything for that price anyway).

Maybe it's because I'm very used to the level of service in Malaysian hotels.

Nevertheless, this hotel is very good but could be better.

I feel this hotel is very good, especially considering it is well off the beaten path for Western tourists.  Some of the staff spoke English.  The breakfast buffet was quite extensive.  The ballroom was very nice.  It is within easy walking distance of the Dongyang China Woodcarving City and the China Woodcarving Museum.  While I had no problems with my room, others in my group experienced a variety of difficulties, including, erratic working of the in-room safe, musty smells, and stained carpets.  In my experience, almost all Chinese hotels need to clean their carpets better.

Good place to stay in Dongyang

When planning my journey to China I have a asked to a Customer which hotel was most suitable (...as well as the previous one I have tried were not smart as expexted...). They indicate me DongYang Narada Grand Hotel which I have booked on Trip.com (...just because I found there at the more convenient price...).

When arrived at Yiwu railway station I have shown the address (both in English and Chinese) to the taxi driver who brought me to Shimao Junlan hotel.
For an European...to be dropped at a different place sounds strange... but after having talked with receptionists twice...I have got that the hotel has two different names.... 
OK.... let's move forward...

As usual happens in location far from biggest cities the staff does not speak English (or French....or Italian....or Spanish...) so Your waepon is just to show them the booking receipt and try to let them match room type and costs.

Room was satisfying.
Hall and mainly breakfast area were dramatically cold... everyone was having breakfast fully equipped as an eskimo...

Be honest...and understand You are not staying in Shanghai !

I have visited this hotel twice, for business trip, with other colleagues as well, and going again next month. You will get a good bed and clean marble bathroom. 

Decor is nice and rooms mostly quiet. Wifi is not great, but it works most of the time for emails and sometimes for skype calls. 

But the smell of the rooms and carpet cleanness is very variable from one floor to the other. Hot water is variable also. Try to ask non smooking if possible. 

Air conditioning and heater are good, but in summer they shut down during mid afternoon ( since most guests are out for the day and the housekeeper are cleaning) so if you are working from your room in june, it is very hot. Lobby feels fresh and cold any month of the year,(winter and summer)

Ideally do your check in or check out with a translator, only 1 or 2 front desk staff speak English in the whole hotel. 

Breakfast is good and have a large variety, always fresh. Staff are kind and welcoming and efficient. You can have tradionnal or American food.

There seems to have a lot of other services in the hotel ( gym -spa -resto -pool ), but not always open , hard to figure it out unless you speak madarin. We succeeded to use the pool on a Sunday afternoon and the gym on a Friday evening. 

If you want to use room service, better to go order in person on 2nd floor, pre pay cash in yuen, and they will deliver in 45min. Bring your google translate app or pictograms of what you want to order. Food and wine was okay, but pricy. If you are a gourmet and on budget, seek around the hotel instead.

Hotel is located 2 min walk from the Woodcarving mall and behind that in the small streets there is good tiny resto. Also across the street there is handbag mall. 

This area feels safe and secure during the day. There is 2 grocery accessible by 6min walk ( one east and one south ) .Beware of KTV nights ,the other buildings & wedding reception get very loud with music. But rarely heard in your room.

Overall this is a very convient and relatively comfortable hotel for traveling westners.
