Xishuangbanna Xiangyue Banna Hotel

We stayed at the Xiangyue Banna Hotel for two nights. Our room was on the 13th floor towards the Mekong - amazing view. We used the free shuttle service from the airport to the hotel which worked out well, even though we arrived in the middle of the night. My bag got lost on the flight and the driver did everything he could to get it back by translating and filling out forms. The breakfast was Chinese only and two blocks away from the hotel but we didn't mind. We also got a free lift to the bus station when we continued our trip. The staff doesn't speak any English but by using a translation app they were able to communicate pretty good. The hotel is located in something like a holiday ressort area with lots of shops and hotels. Still it remains very Chinese, we didn't see any other foreigners. Jinghong is a place we would definitely recommend visiting. It has a nice cultural mix, very laid back and friendly people, a wonderful tropical garden and good Yunnan cuisine restaurants. It's also a place where the Chinese spend their honeymoon.
