Atour Hotel Liu Garden Taizhou

Some 3km west of city center but instead very close to the fine Garden to Linger In and the fascinating West Garden Temple. The hotel consists of low houses around its own little garden. We especially liked the breakfast where you discovered new tastes.

It's a renovated old hotel with a small Suzhou style garden. The room I stayed was upgraded by the hotel and that was nice. The hotel's location is not convenient actually but it just a few minutes walk to the Lingering Garden and perhaps 15 to 20 minutes walk away from Shi Lu and Shan Tang Street. So I think it's okay. Overall, I think it's reasonably priced. Would like to stay again.

A mid-sized hotel with traditional Suzhou garden style

Close to Garden to Linger In. Nice garden, lots of interesting breakfast goodies .

Room 1222. 
Mixed feelings: the room is big, the fridge is empty.
Smoking smell, ashtray and matches on the table.
You have to take your shower in the bathtub, shower curtain. Lots of mold.
Very nice gardens between the buildings.
Dining room a bit shabby: stains in seat covers and the carpet, holes in the table cloth.
Minimal Western choices at breakfast.

average quality hotel within walking distance of Lingering Garden and large shopping mall.

The hotel is decent with garden design. Pretty refreshing. Location is also Great, close to the lingering garden and mall (easy to buy food if needed). My only complaint is they turn off the air conditioning after certain hours. So there you go it was so hot after 3 am in the morning. The people that worked at the restaurant a bit rude.Food is really oily. The receptionist is pretty unhelpful for attending our needs (like checking in or out)  if i may say but luckily we got tour guide that help us go through all the process.

Budget hotel - Good Location - No English speaking employee.

Overall a standard budget hotel, rooms and breakfast acceptable. Garden design was pretty.

However experience was tainted on my last day as we asked the hotel reception / concierge to book us a taxi to the train station the night before - which was refused as reception advised us Suzhou station is very close (15mins by car) and it would be easy to flag down a taxi in the morning (even in 8am peak time). In reality it was nearly impossible to flag down a taxi due to morning traffic and the hotel being in a fairly residential area. Hotel reception was also extremely unhelpful citing they were 'busy' to phone for a taxi that morning due to a mass group checking out. 

Was essentially left  to own devices despite requesting to book a taxi the night before - very disappointing.

Budget hotel - checkout stressful

The quality/cost ratio is good. The hotel is quite standard and the price is also quite standard.
The location is reachable by foot from the subway, it takes around 15 min.
It is quite clean and spacious.
The breakfast clearly has some room for improvement, but it's acceptable.
Would be nice to have some big sign on the outside of the building, it is not very clear whether the building is the hotel or not once you arrive.
