Hang Fung Hostel

This is a great example of the saying ‘you get what you pay for’ and thats not necessarily a bad thing. PROS - Location - It is centrally located in Kowloon within walking distance of most of the major attraction such as temple street. The MTR is located right outside the door (Jordon Station), allowing easy access to pretty much anywhere in Hong Kong. The airport bus (Bus 21 or bus 22 depending which way yo are going) can drop you off not too far away on Nathan Road and you can walk here. - Wifi worked well and is free - Room despite being small was immaculately clean - Soundproofing on the windows seemed to work well as I didn’t hear any of the street noise from down below (it is located on the 14th floor). - Staff there were quite friendly. For memory it was just one lady who didn’t really speak much english and I suspect tried to time her attendance at the hostel with when she expected guests to arrive/depart. - Value - price point was much lower than competitors CONS - Room was quite small as is often the case with accomodation in Hong Kong. - Bathroom is also quite small with a very odd configuration that required the hotel water to be turned on via a switch approximately 10 minutes before one would shower in order to allow the water enough time to heat up. The shower is also simply a flexible hose over the toilet. Overall we didnt mind stay here. However, it definitively has its drawbacks which are well accommodated for in the price point. I think if you are budget conscious and planning on spending most of your time outside of the hotel this could be a good option.
